Lack of planning by Government and HSE on disability care services leaves families in fear – @ROMurchu "There needs to be a sea-change from the Minister and the HSE, they are not planning properly and are stripping the humanity out of the system." sinnfein.ie/news/lack-of-p…

In Louth this morning myself and Ruairí Ó Murchú met with farmers, hauliers, agricultural contractors and bus drivers. People under huge pressure as this government refuses to listen. Their handling of the fuel and cost of living crisis has been disastrous. The bare minimum and half measures are not good enough. We need maximum reductions in fuel prices now!

🔥 Watch this! Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael refuse to listen to people. Arrogant and incompetent. Half measures don’t cut it. We need to see the maximum reduction in fuel prices at the pumps. The people have no confidence in this useless government. They should back their bags and go.

The government only moved because of public pressure - and even then, they fell short. The pressure must now intensify. We will bring forward our motion of no confidence in the government this week. They have to go. This government clearly aren’t listening to the people. They haven’t taken the necessary action to make fuel affordable at the pumps. What they announced this evening fell far short. Working people left behind again. The solutions are there. They could have cut diesel by the maximum amount to prevent it being wiped out within days. They could have cut petrol further. They could have scrapped excise on home heating oil. People have no confidence in this government. They have failed to take responsibility for a crisis that they allowed to spiral out of control. They are out of touch with the cost of living reality facing ordinary workers and families, with carers and disabled people. In Dundalk for #FuelProtest

Farmers, farm contractors, hauliers, bus operators are continuing to protest to get a reasonable break from the excessive cost of fuel for themselves & all those under severe pressure. They are demanding government action to cut fuel taxes & deliver real support for workers, families & local businesses. People are more determined than ever to have their voices heard & need to see action & respect from the Irish government that has been disgraceful through this crisis. @sinnfeinireland will keep standing with you. We will fight your corner until ordinary people are put first.

Government must act to reduce taxes on fuel. In the last week, they collected more than an extra €38 million in VAT due to rising fuel prices. The European Commission has called for each state to introduce lower fuel taxation supports. People need support with rising living costs right here, right now. Sinn Féin has produced legislation to scrap the planned carbon tax increase, reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and home heating oil and deliver for workers and families. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael need to stop dithering and pass this legislation without delay. We need leadership and we need action now. They cannot keep ignoring the warnings from Irish hauliers and the growing pressure soaring fuel prices are putting on workers, families and small businesses. Government must stop this ‘wait and see’ approach and intervene now: scrap the planned carbon tax increase, reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and home heating oil during this crisis, and bring forward a cost of living package with real support for workers and families. An emergency cost of disability payment is needed also. #CostOfLivingCrisis #FuelPrices

🚨ANNOUNCEMENT! Sinn Féin will move emergency legislation to provide people with immediate relief from soaring fuel prices. It would scrap the planned carbon tax increase and reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and home heating oil. Up to 65% of what people pay at the pumps goes to the government in taxes. So, they have considerable room to help. Sinn Féin’s Bill is real action! Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael need to pass it without delay.

Incredible! The cost of home heating oil has almost doubled in the last few days and Mícheál Martin is still going ahead with Fianna Fáil Fine Gael’s Carbon Tax hikes. This will push prices up further. He needs to do his job and stop this blatant price gouging and scrap carbon tax hikes. We need real action to end the rip off and make life affordable.
