Oil Fields in the ROPME Sea The #ROPME Sea Area (the Gulf, Sea of Oman, and Arab Sea) is among the world’s most intensive regions for maritime traffic and oil production, with more than 50,000 vessels transiting annually — the majority being oil tankers. The region includes approximately 64 offshore oil and gas fields and wells, supported by an extensive network of pipelines linking them to export terminals and refineries, highlighting its strategic significance in the global energy market. الحقول النفطية في بحر روبمي تُعد المنطقة البحرية لـ #روبمي (الخليج، بحر عُمان، بحر العرب) من أكثر مناطق العالم كثافةً بالأنشطة الملاحية والإنتاح النفطي، إذ تعبرها سنويًا أكثر من 50 ألف سفينة معظمها ناقلات نفط. وتضم المنطقة نحو 64 حقلًا وبئرًا بحريًا مع شبكة ممتدة من الأنابيب تربطها بموانئ التصدير والمصافي، ما يعكس ثقلها في سوق الطاقة العالمي. ومن خلال تقنيات الاستشعار عن بُعد والطرق الأخرى، تواصل روبمي رصد البقع النفطية الناتجة من تلك الحقول، ومراقبة حوادث التلوث النفطي من أجل الإستجابة وحماية النظم البيئية الساحلية والبحرية. #ROPME #بحر_روبمي #الخليج #بحر_عمان #بحر_عدن #النفط #المنصات_البحرية #حماية_البيئة_البحرية #مكافحة_التلوث

Hippopotamus… The Giant of the Waters and Guardian of Ecological Balance On February 15, the world celebrates World Hippopotamus Day, honoring one of the largest semi-aquatic mammals, currently threatened with extinction. Living in African rivers and lakes, the hippopotamus plays a key role in maintaining the balance of aquatic ecosystems despite its herbivorous nature and strong defensive behavior. Ancient civilizations across the African continent—most notably the Pharaonic civilization—recognized the hippopotamus and adopted it as a symbol of strength and protection. Today, it faces serious threats from habitat loss and poaching, making its protection a global environmental responsibility.
