Now have Thomson Reuters assert market harm by ROSS while their stock currently craters and ROSS ceased business operations 6 years ago because of the litigation. Have TR call ROSS bad names while simultaneously depending on AI models trained on billions of copyrighted documents.

Now have Thomson Reuters sue ROSS, acquire their competitor Casetext for $650M, realize the IP is useless and become dependent on OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta & Google AI models trained on copyrighted data, pirate libraries and TR competitor data from Dow Jones and the New York Times.

but isn't all caselaw free and available online? (it is not)
GSU@GsuGrinding

@CBHessick Oh man, fun chance to nerd out with me. Berry v. State 105 Ga. 683 (1898). I’d send a link but it’s so old I couldn’t find a Justia link and had to go to Westlaw :)

“If the CCP integrates near-frontier AI systems quicker and more effectively into China’s economy and the CCP security apparatus, and drives global adoption of subsidized, low-cost AI, then it could secure advantages over democracies that overcome an intelligence deficit.” 👀
Anthropic@AnthropicAI

We've published a paper that explains our views on AI competition between the US and China. The US and democratic allies hold the lead in frontier AI today. Read more on what it’ll take to keep that lead: anthropic.com/research/2028-…

Helpful visualization by @edleeprof of all the AI copyright & IP lawsuits in the United States of America. ROSS was the first (orange dot), showing how much of a head start ROSS had in bringing deep learning and neural networks to the law before we were sued by Thomson Reuters.

the FREE NOTWITHSTANDING in all capital letters was the author’s emphasis, not the choice of @ROSSIntel’s social media account. the author was saying even though ROSS was FREE, ROSS was better than the commercial options BECAUSE IT WAS A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE (those caps are mine)
ROSS@ROSSIntel

“the key word there, of course, being “commercial” while the ROSS Chrome extension is completely free.  I would even argue that, FREE NOTWITHSTANDING, the ROSS experience was more useful to me...” 🔗 blog.law.cornell.edu/blog/2020/10/2…
