Most designs don’t fail because they look bad. They fail because they don’t guide attention. When someone sees your design, their eyes should follow a path. But most designs have everything shouting at once: ▫️ Big headline ▫️ Bright colors ▫️ Multiple focal points So nothing actually stands out. This is where hierarchy comes in. Good design tells people: “Look here first, then here, then here” Here’s a simple way I approach it: ▫️ What is the ONE thing people should see first? ▫️ What supports it? ▫️ What can be reduced or removed? That’s how you create clarity. Not by adding more. But by controlling what gets attention. A lot of designers focus on: ▫️Colors ▫️Fonts ▫️Trends But ignore structure. Structure is what makes a design work. Everything else just supports it. Before you finalize any design, ask: “Where does the eye go first?” If you can’t answer that instantly. The design isn’t ready yet.
