An RPC endpoint that's slots behind hands you a stale blockhash, your transaction can be half-expired before you sign it. RPCPlane demotes providers that fall behind the tip, so your writes go to one that's current.

failover you trigger by hand at 3am is not failover. RPCPlane does it the moment a provider drops.
