District Camp at Gorwelion - sun, sea and sand plus rain, fire and lots of card games 🔥⛺️

We held a PJ party, made a kindness tree, played pass the parcel and donated PJs and £19 for @Velindre @VelindreCC last night as part of @cardiffguiding's Kim's Kindness Challenge

We're at Treetops Golf tonight. 'Hole in One' has already been called but that might have just been wishful thinking at the start of the hole... @cardiffguiding

We had a great joint meeting with 1st St Mellons Rangers tonight and completed 3 UMAs. Plus we planned our term and we presented a costumes interest badge - fantastic effort!

Some of our Rangers are off to uni this month which means their units are now searching for new volunteers!

Rainbow Rewind UMA tonight - looking back at our time in guiding. We adapted the activities so played pass the parcel with a twist and painted toast!

It was our annual end of term BBQ last night. We also completed the Can Cooker UMA to melt chocolate for dessert!

All Tied Up and Myth Busting UMAs tonight. We are doing well adding up the UMA hours to work towards competing our first theme awards!

After some serious chip eating and rating, the winning chip shop in tonight's survey is... *drum roll*... Wellfield Fish Bar! #WellfieldRoad @roathcardiff

Chip rating is underway. It's all very serious. Some particularly good customer service in one shop might swing it for them. Now debate about whether chips should taste like 'potato'...

Playing 'Anything Goes Hockey'... it turned into anything goes rugby by the end! Now everyone has split into groups to go and conduct a chip shop survey for the chip shop challenge badge.

We finished @DursleyGuiding's Time For Tea challenge badge tonight with a tea party, tea tasting and Japanese Tea Ceremony. Managed to link it in with 2 UMAs too!

We have all signed @Girlguiding's pledge to help end #PeriodPoverty

We think that part of the problem is that boys are not given the same education as girls about periods so girls still feel uncomfortable talking about it to boys/men. #PeriodPoverty

What better way to mark #IWD2019 than a Ranger meeting starting the @Girlguiding #PeriodPoverty badge, whilst listening to empowering music and drinking tea?

We're considering why shops and the media often refer to 'hygiene products' as if periods are unhygienic... lots of us had never really thought about it but agree it adds to the problem of periods being taboo #PeriodPoverty
