Inaccurate. Since 2018, Clark Kent has been a horrible father. According to DC editorial incompetency: -Clark Kent let his 10 year old son fly off into space to travel alone with a supervillain. -Clark Kent never sought out Ultraman to punish him for the kidnapping of his son. -Clark Kent never dropped everything to de-age his boy and save him from his aged-up failure of a life. -Clark Kent did let his PTSD son travel into the far future, alone amongst an unknown powered “legion.” -When Jon needed him most, Clark Kent left earth to fight on a distant world, and brought back two replacement children. -Clark allowed the Justice League-with no professional contractors or inspectors to certify the framing, electricity or roofing- to rebuild the farm where his aged parents live. No general contractor licenses in the League.

Lazy and terrible. - Jon Kent could have aged reverted, and chose not to: massive failure - a new 11 year old victim of abuse was introduced - Slott got it wrong that Ultra Jon is “evil at a quantum level” (Alexander Luthor on Earth 3 is not evil) - this ending sets us up for more, terrible, aged up Jon Kent stories

You are making my point, I think. It is ridiculous and does foreshadow every pending “oh, he needs to redeem his origins” storyline in the future. If everyone is evil on Earth 3, how do you get The Jokester or Alexander Luthor? Evil is a choice, not a quantum level indictment.

Sadly, Slott and the editors at DC have only proven they are incapable, and /or incompetent, at their job function. The NEW abused, fake 11 year old is as bad as the idiotic, aged up NPC failure that is Jon Kent/Tomorrow Stiff.

The point is, he could have reverted and should have. I disagree- the “I turned out fine…” is a total fourth-wall sop to the audience, understanding that the character has NEVER been fine since the age up, has failed across every title/story for 8 years. It may even be a hidden apology for pending failure with the character.

@RPGlover You also took the “I turned out fine” line too literal, he OBVIOUSLY did not mean that wholeheartedly with the look on his face, while literally crying in the next panel, this is him coping and trying to move on with the fact that he won’t get his childhood back

Thanks for the reply, but “fixes” what? - we now have a new faux-Jon Kent who, in order for this poor story to work, was ALSO imprisoned in a volcano - this new Jon has nothing of the original besides looks- no Lois Lane spunk, no friendship with Damian… he’s a worse young substitute than the twins. Any stories will be constantly “redeem this” or “redeem that…” This concept of being bad at a quantum level is a hand-wavium ridiculous thing - aged up Jon Kent lies to everyone, especially readers, saying “I turned out just fine.” Aged up Jon remains a terrible failure, and his crap titles and stories have not been jettisoned as they should be… it’s so bad historically, Slott has to give him a whole new super identity. And, future stories will still suck because it’s still the failure aged up Jon Kent- there are no good future plots that start from failure, zero x zero is still zero in the end

@RPGlover the new issue not only fixes most of the problems with jon’s character but obviously sets up future arcs .. and this is your takeaway from that?

Dan Slott went full Bendis mode & mocked fans of Jon by showing the real Jon while doubling down on the failed character. Even "joking" about aging up Ultraboy, who was only used as bait for kid Jon... Jon never wanted to be a reporter but of course doubling down on it too...

ok idk everything about superman unlimited #15 felt really rushed, i think there were somee good plot points but like none of them were expanded on enough to match up with the first few issues of the arc for me

“Reign of the Superboys” would need to be retitled to “Pain of the Super Fans.” RE: Superman Unlimited 15 I call DC Editors incompetent- there is no better evidence than this story arc. - not only has Jon Kent been tortured multiple times through his existence, but editors just introduced into canon ANOTHER 11 year old who was tortured in a volcano, necessary to make this terrible story work. Seriously- how do you go through a story evaluation process and get that approved? - aged up Jon Kent is STILL in place by the end of the arc- and even says the terrible lie “I don’t need to be saved. I turned out just fine.” Bullshit. Editors and writers, from their posh vacuum chamber, sidestep the most fundamental truth at DC: aged up Jon has NEVER been fine, has always failed and been a weak NPC of a Kryptonian character. The people who need to be saved from this fecal default are the fans who’ve stupidly “trusted” DC staff. - so now, in an upchuck of convoluted stupidity, aged up Tomorrow Stiff stays. The newly found super abused child stays. The incompetent editorial team stays. The writing team that formulated this dog’s breakfast stays. It’s like: “You have charged me $4.99 a month over 6 months for great Meyer art and the equivalent of an ice cream headache…” - the most expedient plot alternative (the one that every non-shallow, discerning, long suffering Jon Kent fan would demand): when the imp says “[You can]…save past-you for REAL this time. No tricks…” Say “yes.” Yes. Stop the idiot fiction, the demented math, that ANY Jon Kent story has been viable, good, enjoyable, valid or heroic since the age up destruction was implemented. Because, any other answer is a proven untruth. Aged up Jon Kent has been and is terrible, and any proponent of aged up Jon Kent has a whorl-less, rancid pre-frontal cortex.

#supermanunlimited #jonkent Just a reminder- if you’re a fan of DC comics: Aged up Jon Kent is a failure, loved by an undiscerning few, despised by most fans- for years to now written poorly, edited badly, with fans of the IP let down by an incompetent cadre of staff/editors at the publisher. Young Jon Kent is the best version of the character, and must remain in continuity. There is no alternative DC can present that recovers fans from years of idiocy with the IP.
