🚨Tempsford has been confirmed as a new town! 40,000 homes are set to be built around a new station at the intersection of the East Coast Mainline and East West Rail – linking Tempsford’s new residents to good jobs in London, Cambridge, Oxford and Milton Keynes 🚆 Tempsford’s excellent transport potential is massively underutilised: the site is almost entirely covered by empty fields. But Tempsford’s proximity to so many big cities means that the new town stands a great chance of becoming a huge economic success! 🗺️ The other new towns are: - Crews Hill and Chase Park, Enfield - Leeds South Bank, West Yorkshire - Manchester Victoria North, Greater Manchester - Thamesmead, Greenwich - Brabazon and the West Innovation Arc, South Gloucestershire - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. 🏘️ To make the most out of Tempsford, it is important to tackle one key bottleneck. The Digswell Viaduct, located just south of the proposed new town, is where the East Coast Main Line narrows from four tracks to just two. 🛤️ The viaduct limits how many trains can run on that line, a line currently used by over 20 million people every year. We need to fix that bottleneck to ensure that a new station at Tempsford doesn't slow down services. George Galloway has U-turned on his opposition to Scottish independence, saying the 'British state is financially, politically, and morally bankrupt'

crazy how they point to the UK, a temperate rainforest archipelago clearcut for wealthy ranchers, among the most nature-depleted countries in the world, as the paragon of sustainable animal farming Also 1kg of beef consumes 1451L of freshwater withdrawals, not rain. (Poore 2018)

England's mercurial left arm spinner of the 1970s/1980s, Philippe Henri Edmonds, gazes skywards - looks to me like one of those moments when you turn away and count to ten before telling management exactly what you think of their latest quixotic idea

Berwick Rangers has blamed both the Scottish and English football associations for its potential closure because of its unique geographical quirk ⚽

Neville Southall was such an underrated goalie! 🧤

“Nothing good has ever followed the words ‘we need to talk’, ‘terms of service update’, or ‘by Jonathan Liew’.” I’ve written about Gail’s and THAT Guardian column for the @spectator. spectator.com/article/the-re…
