- because his friend/engineer posted a picture of him with all his Grammys around the same time that another artist announced a new album.
- because he privately reached out to a friend to discuss something he said.
- because he GIFTED equity into HIS company to someone and they didn’t signed the paperwork so they missed out on millions when the company was sold.
- because he refused to be held accountable for a grown man’s whereabouts after he left tour to go shoot somebody in broad daylight.
- because he released an artist upon his request to leave his label AND cleared a $12M debt that said artist still owed that label.
- because he allegedly didn’t want someone who had been dissing him for 20+ years to perform at the Super Bowl.
- because he DIDN’T hit his sister in law back after she assaulted him in an elevator.
- because he was pictured sitting on the same table as some people during a charity event in which he was raising money for prison reform.

@REALEST_007 Yes their music is more popular but Jay-Z is just as recognizable globally as they are. He’s 1 of only 4 rappers to sell 100M+ records that alone puts him on their level. Add the stuff you mentioned & it puts him many levels above them.

Someday some rapper will probably reach higher heights than Jay.

Jay Z hasn't reached the heights that some rappers have, but one thing I always respected about his career is its longevity, which has been over 20 years solid. If he dropped now, we would be talking.

But there's a distinction between music & business.
The heights reached by Jay-z is largely thanks to the business. But his music didn't shoot him to heights like Kanye, Eminem or Drake music did.

@TheRocSupremacy yep and that goes for a lot of rappers that people consider as Jay-Z's rivals. Folks will refer to them as billionaires as a way to put them on Jay-Z's level. I've seen it happen with Nas too
