(1/3) The case of three KZN police officers accused of murdee of suspects at Duff's Road in KwaMashu on 20 March 2025 was remanded to 25 August 2025 by Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court.

(1/2) EMPD Brigadier Julius Mkhwanazi and JMPD officer, Kgomotso Makhubu were released on bail of R5000 each by the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court. They were arrested by IPID on Friday for allegedly raiding a property in Killarney in 2023 without a warrant.

(1/3) The case against nine members of POP in Bultfontein was postponed to 5 October 2026 for a pre-trial conference. The officers are facing four counts of murder emanating from an incident that happened in Bultfontein on 22 September 2024.

(1/2) IPID has arrested two more suspects who are allegedly involved in the raid and seizure of precious stones at a property in Killarney in Johanneaburg in 2023. They are detained at Germiston holding cells, and will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.

IPID together with other stakeholders that include, amongst others, SAPS, North West Department of Health, National Sea Rescue, and Sedibeng Fire Services had a community outreach at Brits Mall, in Brits, on Friday, 17 July 2026, to educate the public on their mandates.

(1/2) Warrant Officer Vincent Mkhize from Umlazi Visible Policing was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, wholly suspended, for fatally wounding his son Ayanda Mkhize (25), after mistaking him for an intruder who was tampering with his burglar gate on 28/12/2022, at around 01h00.

(1/3) Sergeant Mbulelo Jywili (44) stationed at Kagisanong Police Station in Bloemfontein was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment or a fine of R3000 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of negligent discharge of a firearm. The sentence was wholly suspended for five years.

(1/3) The case against Amukelani Musengi, accused of murder of her colleague, Palesa Rikhotso, was postponed to 13 July 2026, for judgment in the bail application by the Protea Magistrate's Court. Musengi allegedly killed Rikhotso on 28 June 2026.

The third suspect in the alleged theft of precious stones has handed himself over at the Edenvalle Police Station. She will make her first appearance before the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court tomorrow, 7 July 2026. Three suspects have been arrested in this matter.

(1/3) The case of a JMPD officer, Amukelani Musengi, accused of murder of her colleague was postponed to Wednesday, 8 July 2026, to verify her address by Protea Magistrate's Court. Musengi allegedly had an argument with her partner while attending an event in Soweto on Sunday.

(1/2) IPID has arrested a second suspect for the alleged raid and seizure of precious stones without a warrant, in Killarney, Johannesburg in 2023. Two warrants of arrest have been effected, and the directorate is pursuing the third suspect.

(1/2) IPID, together with members of TRT has arrested a JMPD officer based at the VIP unit for his alleged involvement in a theft of precious stones in Killarney. It is alleged that members of EMPD, JMPD and Gauteng Traffic allegedly seached and raided a house without a warrant.

(1/4) IPID is investigating a fatal shooting of an off-duty JMPD officer by her fellow colleague in Glenridge Extension 16, Soweto in the early hours of 28 June 2026. The accused female officer is detained at Moroka Police Station, and is expected to make her first appearance in
