Tasmania is barrelling towards transport chaos over Christmas. The State Govt doesn't even seem to care. They have given up governing. #politas #ausunions rtbu.org.au/tassie_governm…

Metro Tas bus drivers in Northern Tasmanian will be stopping work again on Wednesday. This will impact afternoon peak hours service in Launceston. It's time for Eric Abetz to step up and put some money on the table. #politas #bustrike @Examiner rtbu.org.au/northern_tasma…

@VinceRugari Actually we’re more focussed on the working conditions of our members, many of whom are serious football fans too.

I swear they all sit in a room thinking of ways to mess with Australian soccer.

#BREAKING: The Sydney train network will shut down from Thursday to Sunday. Negotiations between the government and the RBTU are in a deadlock. “This will cause major disruption to the millions of people who rely on the Sydney Trains network,” Jo Haylen says.

@larper_the The XPT is being replaced, but the replacement trains won’t have sleeper carriages. We’ve been campaigning to get new sleeper carriages built as well.

@larper_the Also the law in NSW. In any case, living in another state is no excuse - you still have to abide by the law. Good luck with your argument in court champ. www5.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/c…
English

@RTBUnion Buddy, no, because Victorian laws are not known all over Australia, just because you live in Victoria, doesn't mean you can expect others from say QLD where they don't have trams to be able to know that law that ohh green traffic light means I can't go when a tram is here.
English

Leo is spot on. Be safe around trams!
Leonardo Puglisi@Leo_Puglisi6
the “karen” is in the right here, the tram’s lights are flashing and the biker should’ve stopped this is super basic stuff if you live in melbourne
English

@larper_the Mate the road rules are clear. You can make as many excuses as you like, but the law is the law, and if you run over someone while breaking the law then you're in massive trouble. Just stop.
English

@RTBUnion Where's the crosswalk indicator? If you're from another state, and you get a green light and people are running across the road to catch a train when it's not safe to do so, that's dangerous, if it's a green light for local traffic to proceed, that there says you can proceed.
English

@larper_the No, you can't just make up your own set of road rules. If the tram has stopped to let passengers on and off then traffic must stop too. The problem here is the motorcyclist. ptv.vic.gov.au/more/travellin….
English

@RTBUnion Hang on, there's a green light for traffic, that's one big problem there, if traffic have green light they are allowed to go (unless an emergency vehicle needs to go before them) if pedestrians don't have the light to cross for the tram, then they shouldn't be crossing.

The level crossing collision at Westbury in Northern Tasmania earlier this week has once again highlighted the need for a zero-tolerance approach to level crossing safety The madness has to stop #politas #ausunions rtbu.org.au/westbury_level…
