They say life is short, but it’s the longest thing we will ever do.

@lionel42399 @RoseXrp I arrived Monday evening and leaving today. I was scheduled to leave tomorrow, back to Vegas with a 1 hr stopover in Amaterdam, but I changed my flight to Amsterdam today and I’ll see my family instead.

🇧🇧 Only on Barbados could you find yourself on a Monday night in a random bar in St George chatting to a bunch of strippers playing bingo 🤣

@Dadofthefab5 @HammerToe PBMs are the reason insured patients don’t pay $100 in the first place, so this “600% drop” still doesn’t help the people who need it most.

@Dadofthefab5 @HammerToe Reinsurance just protects the company from catastrophic claims. It has nothing to do with what patients actually pay at the pharmacy. My point stands, people with insurance already pay less than $100, and people without it still can’t afford $100 when generics are $25.

@Dadofthefab5 @HammerToe Just to be clear, even if you have to pay a premium, insurance companies already have negotiated prices with the drug companies. So lowering the cost from $500 to $100 doesn’t matter at all. This only affects the uninsured and they will go for the generic version for $25.

@Dadofthefab5 @HammerToe You are missing the point. I have good insurance, so my insurance company has negotiated a price already, which is lower than $100. A person without insurance, can’t afford a $500 pill that’s lowered to $100. They will buy the generic version for $25. So nobody is being helped.

@Dadofthefab5 @HammerToe They are not lowering costs. This specific example was of a drug going from $600 to $100, while Costco sells the generic version for $25 and should be lowered to $5.

@HammerToe @Laurie0801 There is another part to this. One party is willing to give insurance to 100 people, even when 10 are not deserving. The other party doesn’t want to give it to 100 people, because 10 people are not deserving.

@Laurie0801 Because they have been conned into thinking it would be ludicrously expensive as their only price reference is what the private system price gouging charges their insurance companies.

@EmCeeH0 @HammerToe @Laurie0801 I had a patient once’ isn’t an argument, it’s a campfire story. No details, no verification, no context… but we’re supposed to use it to judge entire national healthcare systems? Come on.

@HammerToe @Laurie0801 1) Had a patient yesterday who came from England. He couldn’t get the treatment he needed inside of NHS. Mind you…this was not some complex problem. He went to a private specialist. The specialist couldn’t treat it either. When he learned his patient was coming to me in the US..
