Hugh had the opportunity to chat with Eric Metaxas in a fascinating discussion about interpreting Genesis in a manner that aligns with both theological beliefs and scientific findings, particularly concerning origins, cosmic history, and the concept of time.

After decades of faithful service, philosopher and theologian Kenneth Richard Samples is retiring as senior research scholar at Reasons to Believe.
Throughout his career, Ken has faithfully served the church through apologetics, helping countless people thoughtfully engage life’s biggest questions and better understand the Christian faith. Over the years he has authored numerous books, contributed to multiple collaborative works, written hundreds of articles and blog reflections, and spoken widely on philosophy, theology, and the Christian worldview.
We are deeply grateful for Ken’s years of scholarship, faithful service, and friendship. His influence will continue through his writing, teaching, and the many lives he has impacted.
Please join us in thanking God for Ken’s work and praying for him as he enters this next chapter.

Not all reading leads to wisdom.
A classic work on learning, How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler, explains that there are different levels of reading, and only the deepest kind truly shapes our thinking.
• Elementary reading helps us understand words
• Inspectional reading helps us grasp structure
• Analytic reading teaches us to think critically
• Syntopical reading allows us to compare ideas and form independent judgment
For Christians, this kind of careful reading is not just intellectual growth, it is spiritual formation. It trains us to seek truth patiently, test ideas thoughtfully, and love God with both heart and mind.

Day 10 of Lent. Maybe the fast feels harder than it did on Day 1.
In neuroscience, we know that repeated resistance reshapes the brain, strengthening pathways of self-control and trust. Formation happens through challenge.
Lent invites us into the same kind of formation. Not because God desires our discomfort, but because growth often happens in the wilderness.
Jesus knows this place. He faced temptation not because He lacked faith, but because the Spirit led Him there.
If you’re tired today, take heart. Jesus understands the wilderness. And He walks with you in it.

Tomorrow evening, February 28, 2026, brings a special sight: a planetary parade, when multiple planets appear aligned along the same arc of the sky as seen from Earth.
This alignment doesn’t happen often, and it beautifully reflects the precise rhythms God built into the cosmos. The same laws that guide planets in their paths also make life on Earth possible. Order, beauty, and meaning are written into creation itself.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” — Psalm 19:1 NIV
How to watch:
Look toward the western horizon shortly after sunset. If skies are clear, several planets will be visible to the naked eye, and binoculars or a small telescope will reveal even more. A sky map app can help you identify each planet.
Take a moment to look up and let this rare alignment be a breathtaking reminder of the God who set the universe in motion.

Chaos was an option.
So was emptiness.
Instead, we got a universe built for complexity and life.
That choice looks a lot like intelligence.

Today begins Lent A season of reflection, repentance, and preparing our hearts and minds for the reality of Christ’s death and resurrection.
Lent invites us to remember Christ’s suffering, examine our lives, and return again to the grace of God. It’s not about perfection, but about repentance and deeper dependence on Him.
May this season draw us closer to Christ and renew our hope in the promise of the Resurrection.
How are you choosing to observe Lent this year?
