Sure Joe I understand your point. But that's the casting director's job. They get paid big bucks to figure that out. I don't personally have to know a child actor who would be a fit to make the point valid. I mean who ever heard of Alicia Witt at 5 years old? She played the child character Alia Atreides in David Lynch's 1984 film Dune. Nobody knew her prior.

One of the few things I'm still slightly bitter about in Villeneuve's Dune is how little of a space the mentats occupy. Thufir is barely in Part One & completely absent from Part Two. I get compromises had to be made, but I LOVE the mentats and wish we had seen more of them.
