Wood (21-8) falls to PCTI 4-2 in the N1G4 Sectional Finals. The Maroons jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the 1st, capitalizing on an error scoring 1 run followed by D'Angelo's RBI single. Nitch on the bump went 3.1 innings surrendering no earned runs and striking out 3. McCrone went 2-for-4 at the plate, and Nitch (2B) and Orr (1B) contributed hits. Bridges (1 inning, 1K) and Ross (1.2 innings, 2Ks) provided strong relief keeping Wood within striking distance. While the Maroons fell short of their ultimate goal, the team had a great season.
Thanks to the coaches, players, boosters and parents for making this a memorable season. And best of luck to our graduating seniors (Luke Norman, Reilly Bridges, Ryan Savitscus, Emerson Zaza, Derek Bagnaturo, Matt Goldberg, JJ Lee, Mattias Sebestyan, Gavin Hallihan, Sam Diamond, Garrett Greaney, Brooks Orr, Owen Laffey, and Devin DePalma) we are proud of you!!!
