In a landscape shaped by rapid innovation and constant change, the essence of patient experience remains the same: it lives in every moment of empathy, compassion and kindness. This Patient Experience Week, leaders from across RWJBarnabas Health gathered for our inaugural Patient Experience Symposium, The Art of Storytelling: Humans Caring for Humans. The symposium honored the meaningful moments across our system that create opportunities to heal, to comfort and to connect. Mark E. Manigan, our President and CEO, welcomed attendees and Rob Adamson, our Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, delivered the keynote address, “The Hidden Value of People.” Thank you to all of our presenters and participants for sharing the moments that matter and for elevating the experience of our patients and one another! One of those moments that matters to be celebrated today was recognition of Mary Jackson, Patient Experience Coordinator @RWJRAHWAY, who is retiring after nearly 27 years with the hospital! Mary began her career as a Patient Advocate and eventually became Manager and then Director of its Patient Experience Dept.  Over the past 2 years, she held a part-time role, focusing largely on provider coaching and working with the Rahway hospitalist group.  Mary has always been deeply committed to the patients and staff at Rahway and leaves an incredible legacy behind! We wish you happiness, health and relaxation in your retirement ❤️
