So long as BNATCS fails to address root-cause drivers of the need for ATC intervention/infrastructure/staffing, no amount of money will ‘improve’ ATC, reduce congestion/delays, operators’/customers’ costs, or adverse impacts to investors/employees/economy. meritalk.com/articles/faa-m…

🦔 NV Energy is cutting off power to Lake Tahoe's Liberty Utilities by May 2027, leaving 49,000 customers without 75% of their electricity supply. NV Energy said it can't continue the contract because of its "own resource needs." At a business event last September, an NV Energy executive said data centers have driven requests to triple the company's peak capacity, calling it "unprecedented times" and adding that they're "excited to serve this load" but "cannot impact our existing customer base." Liberty Utilities now has about a year to find replacement power, likely from sources outside California since it's not physically connected to California's energy market. My Take A utility is telling 49,000 residential customers to find electricity elsewhere because data centers need the capacity. That's the tradeoff being made explicit. NV Energy didn't frame it that way, but when your executive says data center requests would triple peak capacity and then you cut off a decades-long customer to meet your "own resource needs," the math is obvious. This is happening while AI companies burn through electricity at rates that would have seemed absurd five years ago. Jensen wants engineers using $250,000 in tokens per year. OpenAI is building data centers that need their own power plants. And now a ski town is being told to find power somewhere else because the grid can't serve both them and the machines. The NV Energy executive said they can't impact their existing customer base, but Liberty's customers are their existing customer base. They just decided which customers matter more. Hedgie🤗

When Joe Wilson exposed the fake uranium intelligence, Dick Cheney's office literally leaked the identity of Wilson's wife, a covert CIA agent, to the press as revenge. They committed treason just to silence a whistleblower.

Three things in this post deserve a direct answer. “Senate Democrats are still blocking DHS funding.” Democrats blocked the Republican bill that bundled TSA pay with full ICE and CBP funding — including no reforms after two U.S. citizens were shot and killed by federal agents in Minneapolis. They offered a split six times. Republicans blocked it six times. Cruz proposed the same split yesterday. The workers without paychecks are in agencies that have nothing to do with the immigration fight. “They’re still using lies.” Which ones. Name them. The documented record includes Trump’s own statement that the SAVE Act guarantees Republicans never lose for fifty years. Murkowski’s on-record warning that the push pre-positions a stolen election narrative. Those are not Democratic talking points. They are Republican senators speaking on the record. “We won’t stop until both of these problems are fixed.” Bundling TSA paychecks with a voting bill is the choice that created one of these problems. The families going without pay are not collateral damage of Democratic obstruction. They are collateral damage of a legislative strategy that treats their paychecks as leverage.

Senate Democrats are still blocking DHS funding—leaving 260,000 American families without a paycheck Meanwhile, they’re still using lies in their opposition to the SAVE America Act We won’t stop until both of these problems are fixed

Let me tell you exactly how Trump thinks. He operates unilaterally. He thinks he’s smarter than everybody. When his advisors told him Iran might close the Strait or attack our allies he said — they're not going to do that. And then he had to admit to the press that he did not expect Iran to launch missiles at a 9 to 1 ratio against our allies versus Israel. Let's be honest about what actually happened. He went in unilaterally. Didn't sell it to the American people. Didn't consult our NATO allies. We have 25 years of evidence that we’re not good at regime change. We went from the Taliban to the Taliban. We spent 20 years and trillions of dollars and came full circle. We went from Khomeini to Khomeini in less than a Scaramucci. The biggest brain in the room couldn't see that coming.

Let me explain the sinister nature of what Trump actually does to people. He asks: are you loyal to me? Yes. Good. No forever wars. Are you with me? Yes. No forever wars. Then he starts the wars. And now he needs you to be with him on the wars too. And then the Epstein files come out. Allegations involving children. And he needs you to look the other way on that too. That’s the mechanism. That’s how it works. He moves the goalposts incrementally. Each ask is slightly more compromising than the last. And by the time you realize how far you’ve traveled from your own principles you are so deep in that you can’t find your way back. Loyalty to Trump doesn’t mean loyalty to an idea or a policy or a vision for the country. It means asymmetric, unconditional, no-questions-asked loyalty to whatever he decides is true today. You have to understand the sinister nature of that to understand what is really happening in Washington right now. This isn’t politics. This is a loyalty trap.
