I'm going on an indefinite break from vrchat world creation. I personally feel that I don't fit into VRChat's vision of what a world creator should be/ not in their target market. Its been 7 long years though of working on worlds almost daily (those that know me well, know I didn't really take breaks). I enjoyed making the worlds i've made, I'm super proud of them all, I got to fulfill a childhood dream of one day making games. Thank you to everyone that has enjoyed or continues to enjoy my work. 🥳😎 I'll still attend events and I'll be first in line to play the latest adventure worlds from other creators😁(for me those worlds will always get me to log into to vrc). But as a creator, I've lost the motivation to keep making things for this platform after recent events. This may change over time, i'm certainly open to see VRChat change but I'll also be looking into other platforms and options as well as seeing if I even want to continue creating vr content in the future. ✌️

@LakuzaVR It’s really frustrating that we’re basically forced to rely on CyanLaser if we want to make worlds accessible to people who don’t code. This is honestly one of the biggest reasons why I haven’t released anything new in such a long time.

@LakuzaVR That's exactly the problem I've been complaining about for Years. SDK3 might be an upgrade for VRC overall, but for world creators, it's a nightmare if you don’t know C#.

latest patch notes from VRChat, looks like cyantrigger won't be supported going forward which cuts off a lot of world creators like myself🫡 VRChat never made a viable alternative to cyantrigger in the 5 years of sdk3 being a thing. Learning C# just for vrchat world creation is pointless, since I can just go standalone releases instead (not being a programmer was literally the only thing keeping me tied to vrchat since there was a way for me to make games without being one). So, I there probably won't be any new worlds from me in VRChat. Need to think about what I'm going to do going forward 😰

@LakuzaVR As someone who used to create animated virtual rides, which was no issue at all with SDK2, it's now incredibly hard to pull off with SDK3—at least with my building approach.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to check in, as I’m sure some of you are wondering where I’ve been and how I’m doing. Don’t worry – I’m alive and doing well!

@LakuzaVR That was the reason why I gave up as a world creator. I just couldn't handle all the stuff. SDK2 also had its problems, but I could work with it. I would have loved to continue working on 'Elno'thel Adventure'.

We've had a few talented creators in the vrchat world creation scene leave recently (for different reasons: burn out, lack of tools/features for their needs, difficulty of world creation to graduating to a standalone indie dev) and I've noticed quite a few of them were adventure world creators. For vrc playerbase, this means we're getting less adventure worlds in the near future of vrchat and I personally think VRChat's world creation learning curve is way too high now for a new wave of creators to flood the scene the same way it did in 2018, so I believe innovation overall will be a little spread out in the world creation space. What I would like to request from the community as a whole, is to boost the word about worlds you like more often. If you see a tweet from a creator about the release of the world, retweet it, comment on it etc. because these larger experiences will be lower in frequency now and there's always the risk that this genre of worlds will eventually die out if more keep leaving the space. Interacting with those world launch announcements can help motivate creators to keep making these kinds of experiences too. On that note, if you're making a world right now. Post it in the replies, add a screenshot, maybe a vid of what you're doing and I'll (and hopefully others if they like what they see) will retweet it.
