Bunpals, this is his mum. I'm truly heartbroken to share with you, that whilst Neil did start to respond to treatment, he quickly started to deteriorate, with vets suspecting a blockage. Sadly he was too weak to be operated on and he crossed the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon 🌈😭

@RabbitNeil That’s beautiful. I got a card from our Vets about a week after Truffles died. I cried when I opened it but it was very touching. Take care and sending love xxx

Having a little weep seeing the card the vets sent me, that's on my desk. And the footprint they took for me after we had to let him go. I haven't been able to post that, I still find it hard to look at, but might add it to some jewellery I'm looking at that I can put some fur in

It's raining for the first time since we buried Neil in the garden and all I can think about is him getting wet and dirty. He always spent so long keeping himself pristine. This upsets me so much. 😣

@RabbitNeil @kawazoe316 Neil will have the most beautifully clean fur at the Bridge. Leonard will be there with his alternative hygiene. By now, the best of pals.

@CottontailsBaby Thank you, I find it so difficult to think about him, I keep expecting him to be there, in all the usual places, then remember he's not there. I still find myself having a cry most days, I have managed a few without. The boys, particularly little bofur#2 still have little moments

The pain is a little less raw, but the kitchen echoes without his litter trays & the dining room feels too big without his cage. But there are little reminders around the house, a pang of sadness, the ruminating thoughts of what if we'd done something different or sooner.

@Avarras Yes, I feel all of this, even feeding Benjamin and Buttercup, I find myself coming inside to feed him and expect him sat there, all there is is empty space. 😮‍💨

@RabbitNeil It does that. All the never again you met along the grieving path. The silence, the glitch in the eye when it feels like something is missing in a room. The now useless routine. Every single items you have for them. Neil is lucky, he has been love so much, for years. 🫂💜

@floorsharkmomma Yes, so absolutely gutted, my heart still hurts, although it isn't as raw as when it first happened. So many reminders that bring a tear though.

@floorsharkmomma Thank you ❤️ I have restarted a mammoth task I started months ago of collecting all photos of the kids and buns into single folders from across hard drives as I sort out my PC. There are many I haven't posted and many from when he was a baby.

@RabbitJosephine Thank you, yes, he used to love being on the garden, but run to the door of the run to come in, especially when it started getting to evening or chilly. He was very much a home comfort bun.

@alisonblair30 Oh they are. Ah, we keep going into the dining room where his cage was and give to say hi, especially when coming in from being out, even little brofur#1 said he thinks he will be there and he's not 😢
