@RachelGordon85 @eren_v_ace It’s really not. Are there bad and good guys in the Olympics? In the NBA? NHL? MLB? NFL? Any sports league? UFC? BOXING? MMA? Hardly ever. Yet they flourish because people wanna watch and root for their favorites.

The biggest mystery in WWE today is why fans still cheer CM Punk when he's been acting like a complete asshole. Ever since he came back, "The Best in the World" has done one blatantly heelish thing after another in every rivalry he's been involved in. Everything about his actions screams "villain," yet the crowd keeps cheering him anyway. It honestly feels like fans have forgotten the difference between heroes and villains. Don’t get me wrong. He’s doing a great job, and he’s a good wrestler. But his character is definitely a heel.

@BringHallBack4 @eren_v_ace The world will always be full of good guys, bad guys, and the grey. Entertainment is centered around that. A good heel can be engaging and entertaining but he should still be booed for the story to work.

@RachelGordon85 @eren_v_ace I respectfully disagree completely. Just because they’ve had it and it’s worked doesn’t mean it’s the only thing that works. I would argue fans grasp on the character and if they’re engaging/entertaining far more then if they’re good or evil.

@eren_v_ace I think this is what happens when you get the whole “this match can only happen here”. It’s makes them predictable. Also because we know the upcoming PLEs (Crown Jewel) and the fact Mania is in Saudi. Those help with predictability

Is it just me, or does SummerSlam feel a little predictable? I’m not trying to complain. They’ve already announced a ton of potentially great matches, and I’m really looking forward to the show, but it’s hard for me to imagine Oba, Chad, Gunther, or Punk losing. Those are all key matches, and right now it feels like we already know who’s winning. Of course, I hope I end up regretting this post and WWE hits us with a few genuine surprises, but for now, I just can’t shake the feeling that there won’t be much suspense.

@BringHallBack4 @eren_v_ace I think wrestling needs the traditional heel/face. It’s the basis on which all feuds center proven by the fact they turned Cena & Orton heel just bc they were going against Cody - a face. If you don’t have what you mentioned, then what exactly do you have?

@RachelGordon85 @eren_v_ace Fans are rejecting the traditional heel face expectations thrust onto them. Honestly. I get it. I’m tired of the good vs evil, bad guys cheat, good guys don’t… it’s so stale when it has to the be basis of every single character and match

@eren_v_ace My opinion? This was done for promotional purposes. They will use clips and photos from this all week to tout views (tomorrow on Raw) and be used in ESPN shows all week to sell tix.

If they bring NBA stars into Seth vs. Roman, there’s no point watching after that. Seriously. This is a deeply personal story that’s been building for years. Come on, all you need here is Reigns and Rollins. If this was just a one-night thing for the New York crowd, I still don’t like it, but fine, I get it. I follow the NBA, so I can live with seeing it once. But if Brunson and Haliburton become part of the storyline, send a psych ward van to WWE HQ, because somebody in that office has completely lost their F’n mind.

Now we can go back to caring about actual football like a proper country.

@eren_v_ace Also the theme songs… crowds like to participate. Like singing Sweet Caroline. Can’t just not do the add ons. You can’t just not sing Whoop That Trivck or doing Seth’s oohs. Which is why I think when they turn heel, theme needs to change.

@eren_v_ace I think it’s the time. People aren’t really into good vs bad anymore. Even the movies show this. Making sympathetic movies toward known villains (Joker, Cruella, Maleficient). They want intricate characters. Grey ones.

Yeah, absolutely. I’m just an old-school guy who likes a clear line between the two, you know? Nowadays, people sing Seth Rollins’ song at the beginning of a segment, then those exact same fans are chanting “OTC” by the end. Of course, you should have fun when you’re at the show, but it still feels strange to me.
