@kleib323 @fuzzymittens Our cash prices are Medicare rates. Those prices are publicly available on the CMS website. What we are not allowed to do (per current regs) is publish "negotiated" rates with insurance companies.

@kleib323 @fuzzymittens We are literally not allowed to do that per our contracts with insurance companies. Our hands are tied. Patients asking about self pay are given info including price estimates, but we cannot give exact $ prior to visit because cost depends on visit complexity +/- procedures.

@kleib323 @fuzzymittens Independent physician practices have ZERO control over prices. When I opened, I was given a set fee schedule by each insurer with no room for negotiation. The contract with each insurer stipulates that I cannot share my negotiated rates with anyone. Docs are not the problem!!!

@kleib323 @fuzzymittens You are aware that physicians who accept Medicare cannot legally charge self pay patients less than Medicare rates, correct? My clinic charges self pay patients the lowest amount possible - the Medicare fee schedule.
