@Crawdaddct @StacyLynn624 "It was fine for my kid, so it must be fine for all kids," is highly myopic. ESAs allow families to vote with their feet, precisely what you're advocating for.

@StacyLynn624 My kids came out fine in public school. If your schools are that bad, move. We moved were we knew the schools were above average. Again it’s an easy fix. Local control, cut taxes, and do away with neiborhood school requirements. Kids will gravitate toward better schools.

Loyal opposition talking-points aside it’s important to start at the top. “…the chair of each committee shall schedule the work of the committee and determine the order of …”. Vice-chairs and subcommittees are subservient to the Committee chairs. It’s the order that matters.

A great article about our new House Speaker ⁦@Burrows4TX⁩. Bottom line: Under Speaker Burrows’ leadership, the Texas House is in a prime position to deliver meaningful and monumental conservative victories for Texas. #txlege forbes.com/sites/patrickg…

Today, I cast my vote to ban Democrat Chairmanships in the Texas House. This is a victory for conservative leadership and for the values that Texans overwhelmingly voted to protect. I’m proud to stand with a majority of my Republican colleagues to keep Texas on the right path.

“The big difference this time around is that Burrows’ selection as Speaker does not spell doom for top conservative policy priorities, as was the case for his predecessors. In fact, contrary to attacks leveled at him during the Speaker’s race, Speaker Burrows has the record of a reform-minded conservative, one who is now well positioned to achieve a number of free market policy priorities that have passed out of the Texas Senate in previous sessions but died in the House.” Forbes, January 23, 2025 ⬇️

Completely agree. The entire notion that we created “co-chairs” and empowered Democrats yesterday is false. Every single reform speaker candidate voted for the rules package yesterday. Democrats chairing committees is over. Full stop. Yesterday was a win for Republicans and the state of Texas. #txlege
