Any journalists fancy a FOI to find out how much public money @DominicRaab spent “commissioning advice” on appealing against a criminal sentence - something entirely contrary to his role as Lord Chancellor - before he had even read the sentencing remarks?

@BarristerSecret @Nick_Pettigrew I think it's worse than that. In the LBC clip he says "I commissioned advice the minute I heard of the sentences". Err, what? From who? On what basis is it right for the Lord Chancellor or indeed anyone apart from the AG or SG to do so?

I reject the cynical fatalism: ‘there’s nothing we can do about another large omicron wave.’ Our actions matter: wear masks in crowded places, get vaccinated, get tested before socialising, quality> quantity of contacts, get outside. Our micro-behaviours matter. Think of the NHS.

@ks_1968 @IanDunt Thanks 🥰 - I feel mostly fine in myself, they just can't get to the bottom of weird blood tests yet but they're looking. Really makes you realise just how hard they're all working with no slack whatsoever.

I remember Victoria Climbié. I remember the 2003 Every Child Matters initiative in response to her murder. I remember it was effectively set aside and starved of funding from 2010 on. I can't accept this govt's handwringing over the killing of Arthur Libinjo-Hughes as genuine.

No need to worry folks but does anyone happen to know a GP who could give me advice on what I should do (if anything) if I am on potassium supplements, have a potassium level of 4 (but was as low as 2.7 a few months back) and have had a heart palpitation? NHS 111 has told me to..

Spoke to a lovely nurse at 111 who recommends calling my GP tomorrow (not looking forward to that - it's like a fastest finger lottery to get an appt - again not my surgeries fault they're underfunded and understaffed). She also gave me worsening instructions which were useful.

call my GP. My GP practice tells me to phone 111 out of hours. I've booked a call with 111 and they'll contact me in the next 24 hours but should I be more concerned about it or is it nothing to worry about? I know it's a worry with low potassium but what about normal potassium?

@IanDunt @ks_1968 Try using NHS111 - I did it online and was advised to phone my GP, My GP website advises me to phone NHS111 out of hours. Couldn't make it up and I definitely don't blame the NHS here.

Sometimes they hang up on after 40 mins. Sometimes you get through to someone who then puts you through to another department. Either way, the whole godawful process starts again.
