Getting penalized bc the Chaos Demons rocked their science SOL is just a kick in the metaphorical balls. Don’t cut 25% of my science block “to be fair to the other schools.” Give your teachers more time. TLDR: raise your game instead of hamstringing mine.

We need to find a happy medium. The slower, more open pace and longer warmup of the long format with the safety rules of the modern era. Because we know the risk we take when we saddle up. But our horses are out there bc we ask them to be, and they don’t.

@AlexDanvers2017 The problem with FB support groups is there’s no or little vetting on who posts, or what information is truly current & evidence-based. Add in the fact some people thrive on scaring the shit out of others, the same people who go up to pregnant women and tell them horror stories.

The only time Mo ever tells us he is suffering is when he has to wait for the Mo Tax he’s imposed on anyone who walks by the wash stall when he’s in there (two baby carrots, please).

I joined an fb support group for people with DSLD horses. Holy fuck these people are terrifying. I picked up some tips on support boots, ice boots, and how to use human red light pads to make Mo some ad-hoc leg wraps. But good lord.

I have seen horse let their lower lip droop when they’re relaxed and sleepy. I have seen a few do some gentle twitches. I have never seen a full on sleepytime wiggle session.

Facebook keeps showing me Dutch Harness Horses for sale and I just stare at their ankles like a psycho. I love Mo’s brain. I love his quirkiness and his heart. I could see getting another DHH after him, but maybe the warmblood/KWPN type. Still wouldn’t be Mo though.
