Wes Streetings decision to ban puberty blockers should be called out for what it is. He's playing culture wars where trans & non binary youth are collateral damage & Labour dance to Reforms tune. An attack on trans people is an attack on our LGBTQ+ community. We must say no.

Wes Streetings decision is dangerous enough alone but when you add context of the spiralling state of our mental health services - it is cruel, callous and unnecessary. Medical practitioners should be making these decisions with the patient - not politicians pushing austerity.

A council seat by-election has been called in Wanstead Park, in my borough of Redbridge. I am supporting Syed Siddiqi, the Green Party candidate. This is not an endorsement of the Green Party but rather a call to support a consistent and courageous advocate for Gaza who continues to call out this government for its complicity. Syed pledges to challenge Redbridge council to divest from investments in companies enabling the genocide, unlike, sadly, all the other candidates on the ballot. Even those who profess to be ‘independent’. Syed and I attended the brilliant Wanstead High School and I know he will advocate for local people. We need principled local representation and people ready to serve our community selflessly, and I urge all Wanstead Park residents to elect Syed on the 14th of November. The Greens came second in the Leyton and Wanstead constituency in July and have the greatest chance of unseating the Labour Party - Syed can win with your support.
