@patinaresearch Lovely car. I really love the story of this “senior little team” from USA that had a 3rd position on his class (AM) on 2011 Le Mans with the GTE spec.

Isn’t it silly of us to never mention the Ford GT when we talk about the coolest GT1 cars? Developed by Matech Concepts to meet FIA GT1 regulations, the Ford GT Matech GT1 marked the return of the Ford GT to top tier endurance racing, using a naturally aspirated 5.0L Cammer V8 making around 600 hp in 2009 before being enlarged to 5.3L for the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship. Although based on the production chassis, it featured extensive carbon fiber bodywork, a wider track, and a massive rear wing, debuting in 2009 and scoring wins in 2010 at Abu Dhabi and Brno before being run by Mark VDS Racing in 2011.
