Mistakes were made. A misquote of a 2022 CARJ article by Drs Leswick, Yang, & Rashidi led to a letter to the editor including a bit of a treasure hunt to find the intended reference and how USMLE scores relate to mistakes/misrepresentations on residency applications. #MedEd

Our Dr Neel Mistry was recently interviewed by the CAR about his paper on #RADres call. Neel expressed his pleasure about being part of the discussion on national call & ways to improve it as well as the surreal feeling of having his paper published in the CARJ. #radiology #meded

Are pelvic fractures post hip replacement common? Study by Dr Obaid & #orthopedic #surgery colleagues found pelvic fractures on #CT in 36% of patients after #arthroplasty w cementless acetabular component. No correlation between clinical risk factors or outcome and pelvic #s.

#TBT to a 1990 CARJ article by Dr L Friedman & ortho on wrist #CT. Careful positioning for multiple paracoronal imaging planes to make these lovely pictures for improved diagnosis of radial & carpal fractures. The things we had to do before isotropic multidetector row CT.

Recent CARJ paper including our #Radres Dr Mistry assessed #radiology #resident call amongst 112 residents across Canada. Unfortunately, 62% rated call as unmanageable, almost half did not sleep on call and almost half rated call as unsatisfactory. #FOAMrad #research #meded

RSNA news also shared the Radiology Business article on our recent study by #medstudent M Qureshi & H Jamil w Drs Leswick & Hanneman.  The study showed how #teleradiology from home can cut overall #GHG emissions for a department.  #climatechange #radiology

2026 #CARJ article by #medstudent M Qureshi & H Jamil w Drs Leswick & Hanneman showed how #teleradiology from home decreased #GHG emissions from #radiologist commuting at our mixed urban & rural practice by 63% (equivalent to energy for 6,100 MRIs per year). #radresearch #climate

#TBT to a 2012 paper by Drs Stoneham, Burbridge, Pinilla, Gourgaris, Astrope, & Gordon on free air after #PGJ feeding tube insertion. 94% had #pneumoperitoneum following insertion (only 13% has a large amount). No correlation with adverse clinical symptoms of labs. #radiology #CT

Drs Fladeland & Karjala were part of this recent #Chest journal paper showing BAL had limited correlation with #CT in fibrotic #ILD. BAL lymphocytes did not correlate with GGO (r=0.01, p=0.94) and showed only a weak inverse link with fibrosis (r=–0.16). #radiology #radresearch

#Radres Neel Mistry (with S Adama & others) presented a project on evaluation of automated radiology report generation at RSNA2025 including how to evaluate #LLM #AI generated reports necessitating #radiologist involvement and after deployment monitoring. #radiology #radresearch
