@BrightBian @FranseviEfendi For the majority of Ottoman history Anatolia was populated with semi nomadic tribal groups who tend to not grow quickly as populations and maintain low density

Interesting. Turkey used to be Christian before it was conquered and colonized by Muslims. The Turkic peoples (who originated in Central Asia near Mongolia) did not invade and begin settling Turkey / Anatolia until the 11th century CE. The original people living there were primarily indigenous Anatolians, Greeks, and Armenians. They spoke Greek, practiced Christianity or paganism, and were genetically Eastern Mediterranean. The Muslim Turkic tribes called the Seljuks invaded Anatolia from Central Asia starting around 1071.

@BiruniKhorasan We enjoy it. I’m a yoruk from Anatolia we see it as signal of our conquests and triumph over Rome to see there ruins. That the land is now ours and not there’s

After the death of Christianity, Europeans adopted a secular religion (among its beliefs are environmentalism and de-growth). Unlike Christianity, which gives beauty, meaning, solace, and the promise of everlasting life, this new religion produces no beauty or meaning, no solace or life, just suffering and decline.

South Korea strikes me as having a rather freaky degree of Americanisation when compared to say, Japan. A third of them are Christians (an entirely postwar phenomenon), a lot of k-slop songs sound like hip-hoppy coon tunes, they speak better English and go to US universities more than the Japs do, and foreign films are a bigger part of the local market than they are in Japan.

@Turkish_Futbol1 They didn’t want to play. They shut down the game, ruined it for everyone and dragged it through the mud that’s not being the better side

Everything we were taught about human nature is wrong. A massive new DNA study out of Turkey just shattered the myth that humans are naturally violent and patriarchal. Deep in the 9,000-year-old ancient city of Çatalhöyük, archaeologists have confirmed an advanced society that thrived for millennia with: • Zero evidence of war or violence • Zero weapons or defensive walls • Absolute social equality But the genetics just revealed the most fascinating part. It was a matriarchal, matrilocal society. Men were transients, constantly moving and relocating to live with their wives' families. The women stayed put. They anchored the community, passed down the households through the maternal line, and maintained unbroken stability for generations. No kings, no conquerors, no hierarchy of force. Just a massive, peaceful civilization of 8,000 people held together entirely by women. We weren't hardwired to destroy each other. We just forgot the blueprint.

@DailyTurkic It’s incredibly disrespectful to drink raki as a shot it’s supposed to be sipped with water and ice alongside a meal. This is the equivalent of eating raw chicken and being surprised it tastes shit
