🚨 Refugee Programme Update 🚨 Exactly 3 months ago today I boarded a plane in Johannesburg with a suitcase and a carry-on, that's it. Niks, nada, fokol, nil compensation. I was so scared and had no idea how I was going to do this, but I knew that if I didn't, I would die. It's been a wild ride and I've loved trying to make the experience real for all of you, sharing all the ups and downs of life as a refugee in the US (although the negatives were very few and far between🤣) but I can honestly say that I love my new life here and will continue to fight for equality in South Africa to make it safer for those who can't leave or don't want to. The gratitude that I have down from the depths of my soul for what the Trump Administration and the American people have done for us can't be explained, and I will spend every single breath that I have left in my body, for the rest of my life, trying to repay this debt of kindness. @kroman_fr @SonginLove15 Usually the Left flies red flags with the hammer and sickle, etc. At Left events in the US these flags are sometimes accompanied by the rainbow (LGBTQP), Satanic flags, and various jihadi flags. Usually the Right flies national flags. So this was probably a Right rally.

I read today that after the Fukushima nuclear disaster, there were rumors circulating on Japanese social media suggesting that Americans were angry with Japan. I can only speak for myself, but here’s what I remember feeling as an American: I read stories about elderly Japanese citizens volunteering to help with the cleanup, willing to take on the risk of radiation because they believed it was better for them than for younger generations. That deeply moved me. I felt sadness for the lives lost, and a profound respect for those who were willing to put themselves at risk to serve their country and protect others. I’ve never personally spoken with anyone in the U.S. who expressed anger about what happened. What I saw, and what I felt, was concern and admiration.
