This is the first time in a while where I do not know where to start. This is the first time in a while since Smile 2, where I left the theater speechless. I really was not ready for this. Obsession is not just a horror film but it’s an important message. A very important message about abuse. Bear is flat out a dirty fucking cunt. A rapist. A fucking loser. That scene before the meetup in the park hurts my fucking heart. You a bitch ass nigga, you heard what she wanted, and you didn’t give it to her. Why do YOU deserve something but she doesn’t deserve anything? Who made you god? Who made you think you was worthy of anything when you work at a music store. You’re a pathetic bitch. I felt so much pain and agony. I felt hurt. This is the most impactful film I have witnessed. Not a lot people know but I was in a mentally abusive relationship for 2 years. This resides with me in ways I wish it didn’t. I felt Nikki’s pain and suffering, understanding the abuse she goes throughout the entire movie. This film is brutal. Extremely brutal and unforgiving. The amount of times my jaw dropped is ridiculous. The amount of times I had to stop and catch my breath. I went home and cried for 3 mins straight trying to write this. This film will leave you with internal scars that you can not heal. The visual effects to the performances to the score to the most heartbreaking ending. This is not horror film of the year, this is film of the year. Nothing will come close to the emotions I felt watching this. I feel sick.
