I must admit, I never thought I'd get excited about a tea towel. But bear with me, because I'm honestly so happy to tell you about these brand new products in my shop! I've wanted to produce tea towels for ages, but I've never been able to find any to meet my very exacting standards - until now. These beauties are printed on unbleached cotton using sustainable inks, and they're sooo soft and brilliantly absorbent. I have two designs, both certain to bring a smile to your face as you do the drying-up. Which is no mean feat if you hate drying-up as much as I do!
I have limited stock, so please take a look soon. They're only £13.00 each + P&P (sorry, UK shipping only).

What a wonderful little video, interesting ideas beautifully expressed by Sr Carino and Sr Lucy. Slightly disappointed that nuns aren’t ninjas, but the video would serve as a great educational tool nonetheless. My RE teacher at my convent school in Hertfordshire was a Dominican sister and was a wonderful guide, very popular with students.

@arealmofwonder I love to see an inviting pathway, leading away across a big landscape with wide views and ideally a bright blue sky!

Offensive opinions like this seem to come up more often from Reform people than anyone else, don't they. That's significant. And it says a lot about those who are prepared to accept those opinions and still vote for them. It makes Reform the party it is, one that accepts its representatives however unpleasant they are.
English

Any woman considering voting for Reform needs their head examining.

@DemetaeCymru Their Branch Chair for Cardiff just got exposed for being a massive sexist in a bunch of Tweets .

@AllotmentCat I think you and Amanda are indeed clever, Janet. It's how we get to know people isn't it, recognising the way they walk, their height, their voice. I'm sure Colin is as pleased to see you as you are to see him.
English

(Janet)
Do you think all cars sound the same?
I used to think that but then I started to recognise the sound that Colin's car makes.
As soon as I hear it every day I rush down the path to meet him.
He thinks I'm very clever but I'm not sure about that.
I think that Amanda does it too.
Maybe we are both clever, what do you think?

@Saschaloske @TheLondonLib How fantastic! I went there once, when I was at library school in the 1980s, and I've thought of it often since then. What a wonderful place to be able to go and spend time.
English

A bibliophile's dream come true. Was gifted life membership of THE London Library @TheLondonLib and converted my reader's card today.
I have been dreaming of libraries (Borges-style) for pretty much all my life, and have used and visited many. This one is very special indeed.

@arealmofwonder It has to be C, machair, becuase it conjures up lovely images.

@AllotmentCat Well done, Miss Amanda. I'm sure you've been a big help to Betty and she loves having your company while she's busy in the greenhouse. 💕
English

(Amanda)
Can you see those tiny plants behind me? Many humans would not want their cat to go near them in case theysquashed them.
I've learned not to do that, I know it would make Betty upset.
She spends a lot ot time in the Big Greenhouse and I love keeping her company.
I'm a lucky girl, aren't I?

@Matedwards7 I’m a bit late to the party but have now just made a sponsorship donation. Well done, Daisy, on your fantastic achievement and how much you've raised. Your mum and dad must be really proud of what you’ve done. Good luck for the future.
English

Poppy has raised almost £600, six times her target figure which has absolutely thrilled her and inspired her to carry on. If you haven't already sponsored Poppy and would like to do so then this is the link.
Thank you.

@silverpebble I’ve been wondering where you were... hoped you were ok. I hope the clouds fade from black to grey and to white and the weight lifts soon. ❤️

I’ve been away for 6 weeks trying to get well so the Al Gore Rhythm is likely to show that tweet to approx 2 people & maybe their pets, but if you see it & your brain maybe likes it I’d love you to say hi. I’ll say hi back-honestly small good human connections are one of the things keeping me going just now 🌿

My depression’s severe & dark just now but talking to folk here gives me a sense of belonging which I really need to try to hold on to.
Making this photo helped my brain & looking for the tiny silver owl hidden in it will help yours-the botanical fractals will dial ⬇️ stress & your brain will release dopamine if you find🦉:

@NiallHarbison However bad it still is, it’s already looking *so* much better than yesterday. And, he’s clearly realised he’s in good kind hands at Happy Doggo.
English

@SketchesbyBoze I’ve always enjoyed history. Reading these, or any period, helps us understand where we came from, gives depth and breadth to our knowledge and understanding of the world we live in now, and that’s understanding always worth having.
English

I’ve been reading these books and I’m telling you, there are few things that will better hone your intellect than reading a bit of history each day. You’ll understand psychology, systems, warfare, government, religion. Most of us are adrift because we don’t study history.
Resolute Reader@resolutereader
Slightly over five years after I read volume one and 4231 pages later, I've finally finished the last book in Jonathan Sumption's monumental history of the Hundred Years War.

Poor Maurine probably hasn't been loved before or felt at home anywhere. The allotments is a whole new world for him and he's just beginning to realise how good his life will be there. He may become more outgoing as he settles or maybe he'll always be shy, like Janet, but at least he now has a good home with kind humans. ❤️
English

@NiallHarbison Isn't she a sweet girl, and she's definitely got a bit of pep back in her step, thanks to all the TLC she's been getting. We love to see it! 💖
English

@SketchesbyBoze It is beautiful indeed. It's exactly why I love the Welsh word hiraeth so much.
English

English has the word “nostalgia,” from the Greek algos (severe pain, distress) and nostos (homecoming): a sense of deep longing for moments in time you can never recover, the unspoken feeling that if you could only go back, you would be home again. And I think that’s lovely.
m@chmpgnsoshalist
urdu has a word for the pain of separation that contains, within it, the assumption that reunion is cosmically possible. while english is so spiritually bankrupt it can name the ache but not imagine its end.
English

@fugitiveink Good for Mildryth, she's enjoying her life so much she doesn't want to go to bed in case she misses anything fun.
English

@NiallHarbison What a fantastic team you have there at Happy Doggo. George Clooney will be looking as handsome as his human equivalent after all the tlc he's receiving. He's probably feeling a lot better already, with the pain relief.
