Scam Altman turned OpenAI into his personal money machine. He owns huge chunks of companies that do big deals with OpenAI, like fusion power and AI chips. While running the place, he lines his own pockets with billions indirectly. Musk was right — they stole a charity. Scam Altman doesn’t own OpenAI shares directly, but today he admitted indirect ownership through Y Combinator. Plus, he has personal billions in other companies that OpenAI pays or partners with. Helion Energy: Altman owns about 1/3 of this fusion company (his stake ~$1.65 billion). OpenAI is talking huge power deals with them for its data centers. He only stepped down from their board when deals got serious. Cerebras chips: Altman has a personal stake here too. OpenAI signed a $10B deal for their chips, which boosted the company’s value and helped his investment grow. He told the Senate years ago he had “zero equity” in OpenAI. Today in court he admitted the indirect stake through YC. All this cash flows back to him while he controls decisions at OpenAI. He is looting a charity for personal gain and today’s testimony makes it hard to deny.

NEWS: Sam Altman is now under official investigation for using OpenAI to boost his personal wealth. State AGs from Florida, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, West Virginia & Louisiana just wrote to SEC Chairman Paul Atkins demanding he scrutinize Altman’s “history of self-dealing and serious conflicts of interest that have created significant risk for the company.” Altman has ZERO direct equity in OpenAI. As the AGs noted, “his personal financial interests have only limited alignment with OpenAI’s financial performance.” He gets to play with other people’s money and the company’s future while protecting his own side deals. Meanwhile, House Oversight Chair James Comer is demanding documents on Altman’s personal investments that conflict with OpenAI. $852 BILLION valuation. Unreleased conflict audits. History of getting briefly ousted over these exact issues. And they want to take this public? It’s a flashing red warning for investors and the public. Regulators and lawmakers are finally paying attention. About time.

Officially canceling our Anthropic plan, it’s Codex + Cursor for my little 16 person eng team. Anthropic is great for companies that can spend $2,000/mo and up per engineer, but not affordable for us. Codex really upped their game recently, and with GPT 5.5, it’s just so good, and so token efficient. Still using Cursor plenty, my team still looks and reviews a lot of code. But with Cursor, we’ve never hit a limit, and Composer 2 is pretty awesome for most stuff. Testing out Droid as well and see some good early results with Droid + GLM 5.1, but still more testing to do before rolling it out to the whole team. My guess is many more engineering leaders will be sending messages like this. Anthropic makes great stuff but phew, it’s so darn token hungry. My team loves Codex and Cursor, onward!
