Monday's horse racing thread 🧵 Bath 3.25 Double Naughty 11/4 Pontefract 3.33 Sophia's Starlight 9/4 Plumpton 3.40 Alien Storm 2/1 NEXT BEST Pontefract 5.08 Stirrup Cup 11/2 each way Wolves 6.30 Return Of The Gods 13/8 NAP Wolves 7.30 Megaphone 13/2 each way I can see DOUBLE NAUGHTY being well backed here. This filly by Cotai Glory shaped with promise when third on handicap debut at Thirsk and with that under her belt dropping back to the minimum trip here off an unchanged mark I expect her to take a lot of beating with Cieren Fallon also a positive jockey booking. Likeable mare SOPHIA'S STARLIGHT won this race last year off a 3lb higher mark and she shaped better in defeat when fifth at Ripon last month. She has been dropped 2lb since and if building on that last run should have a great chance in this company. She can be keen but there is good pace on here and that will help. I'd be confident ALIEN STORM can win this. We know he likes it here and he went down less than a length at Fontwell last month on return which was encouraging. He will strip fitter for the run and off the same mark is certainly handicapped to go one better. Hecouldbetheone and The Gypsy Davey could take each other on and that would be a dream scenario. Arnhem was obviously given a very quiet ride at Musselburgh and should have a better chance here but he has been overbet already and STIRRUP CUP seems better value. He won easily at Hamilton and then looked unlucky to miss a nose there last time. He is improving all the time and is well handicapped so looks a cracking each way bet. To go down just 2 lengths on debut having run green throughout was a big effort from RETURN OF THE GODS and with natural improvement I expect him to take a lot of beating here. The money already seems to be coming and I think he'll be a warm order as it looks a great chance to make the breakthrough. Boughey seems to have his horses running really well at the moment so MEGAPHONE appeals as being overpriced here. He shaped much better when fourth behind the progressive Kiniro at Lingfield and off an unchanged mark if this pans out more favourably could have a bigger performance in him.
