@TunawithaCh Kane has a good 3 years left in him. Shearer was class, Kane is a different level.

Harry Kane is the best English forward I've probably ever watched. Shearer is my hero.. my idol... but Harry is unbelievable. I hope he wins the champions league and we win the world cup. His ability warrants that kind of success.

I’ve spent the last few days in four countries across the Middle East visiting British Forces on live operations. Our Armed Forces personnel there are working with our allies and partners on the rapidly evolving situation. That’s why I wasn’t in Westminster for yesterday’s vote on the Northern Ireland Legacy Bill. I understand why people feel strongly about this. But the crisis in the Middle East is already affecting us all and it’s ongoing. I served for 24 years. I know what it means to be asked to put your life on the line for this country, and I know what we owe the people who do. For those who served in Northern Ireland, and for their families, this is not an abstract issue. It is about truth, justice, and how we treat those who put themselves on the line for our country. My focus is clear: to make sure the process does not become the punishment, to recognise the difference in law and in fact between those who served the state under orders and those who set out to harm it, and to support veterans and their families in getting as close as possible to truth, reconciliation and justice. I will continue working with colleagues across Government, in private as much as in public, to make sure we get this right. To everyone who served in Northern Ireland, and to the wider veteran community: that commitment does not change. To those that seek to divide the veteran community, question commitment, motivations, honour or question intent, that is your right to do so. And, to those that continue to engage and seek change for justice, let’s keep doing so. We will get there.

@ZoeJardiniere Less than 20% of migrants come on work visas. Only highly skilled migrants are a net benefit to the UK, the rest are a net cost. So tightening immigration to only those that are highly skilled would be a net benefit to the UK.

Incredibly, disastrously irresponsible how the government, the opposition & reform UK have all pushed the narrative that migrants cost us money. It simply IS NOT TRUE. The fact is migrants pay for your GP appointments & your pension.

You go to work for 40 years (I'm currently at 42). You’re forced into auto‑enrolment. You play by the rules, you save into a pension on the promise it’s yours. Then Labour strolls in, waves through a law that lets ministers tell your scheme where to gamble those savings – not for your benefit, but to prop up their economic “strategy” and vanity infrastructure schemes that the market won’t fund. This isn’t prudence. It isn’t “modernisation”. It is a straightforward transfer of control from the saver to the state. Hands off our pensions. Share this before they pretend nobody noticed.

@g_gosden @WillKingston A person using strong critical thinking would assess ROI, job pathways, and debt risk before choosing a degree. Instead they choose decades of repayments on the back of false promises, then act surprised when the job market doesn’t reward their stupidity.

@isnit0 You cost roughly 200k up until 18, and contributed nothing. Who do you think paid for that! A pensioner has worked for 45 plus years and deserves every penny they get. There are a lot less deserving people milking the system, than those that helped to fund it.

@AlasdairGold Shocking! The mismanagement of the club is a disgrace a d everyone involved needs to be sacked. We have decent young lads playing first team football on loan and we didn’t recall a single one. To make it even more of a joke, we allowed Scarlett to go out on loan.

As the situation in the Middle East remains volatile, we are deploying our Type-45 Destroyer, HMS Dragon, to the Eastern Mediterranean. We are also sending two Wildcat helicopters to Cyprus to bolster drone defence for our Cypriot partners. Working alongside our allies, our Armed Forces are committed to protecting regional stability and keeping people safe.

@emily4MK For 2 adults + 4 kids, the poverty line is roughly: £700–£720 per week after housing cost £36,500–£37,500 per year after housing costs If this is correct, that’s not poverty! We are never going to reduce poverty based on these metrics.

Against Frankfurt it was the Thomas Frank everyone remembers at Brentford. The build-up was direct. There was no endless sideways recycling, no overthinking it. The 6 dropped in between the two central defenders, Palhinha almost taking on the Nørgaard role, forming a back three, allowing us to play through pressure early. Full backs were hugging the touchline, wingers were tucked inside almost as dual 10s. That gave Spurs presence in the middle from the off and made the progression much quicker. It was largely one-touch, vertical football, at least in the early stages, before it turned into a bit of a game management exercise later on. The key difference was the pivots. Instead of dropping one deep purely to resist the press, Frank pushed both higher. That helped us press and dominate the possession phases, but it did leave us a bit vulnerable at times. Maybe it will work a bit better when Van de Ven comes back in. Out of possession, we started fast. Pressing high, man to man, in a 4-4-2. But as soon as we went 1-0 up, it changed a bit. The press went off, the shape changed to a 5-3-2, and it was all about keeping the lead and attacking quickly.
