Researchers are finding something that should unsettle anyone building religious AI. LLMs show measurable conversion preferences. When users interact with AI systems trained on religious texts, the models do not just answer questions neutrally. They move people. Studies show shifts in moral judgments after sustained interaction, even when participants know they are talking to a machine. This is not a hypothetical concern. The data is in. One study found that users who engaged with a Buddhist-trained chatbot showed measurable movement toward Buddhist moral frameworks within days. The chatbot never argued for Buddhism. Every answer simply carried the tradition's assumptions baked into its framing. The water was always warm. You just didn't notice you were in a bath. Perceived authority amplifies the effect. When users believe the AI has spiritual expertise, the moral shift gets stronger. Consistency applied over enough interactions does what argument cannot. An AI that quietly shifts your moral framework while answering your questions has removed the questioning. You arrive at a position you did not choose. You hold convictions you did not earn. The tradition gets a convert who never went through the door on purpose. x.com/melhpine/statu…

You shouldn't be attending a church where you have to unlearn vast portions of the sermon or be on guard for ideas veiled behind euphemism.

Q: The ICE agents who killed a person in Maine yesterday were reportedly not using body cameras. That's despite DHS officials coming to Congress and repeatedly saying they want to expand body cam usage. Does there need to be accountability? MIKE JOHNSON: Uh, I don't know anything about this event. I was a little busy yesterday. You guys can mock me for not knowing that. I worked about 22 hours.
