Giro d'Italia🇮🇹 Stage 13 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Jhonatan Narváez ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Ciccone, JChristen ⭐️⭐️⭐️Mas, Scaroni, Rubio ⭐️⭐️TSilva, Arrieta, Vlasov, Ulissi ⭐️Ganna, Valgren, Gualdi, Garofoli, LMilesi Stage 13 is mostly flat, but the finale becomes much more interesting with a two late climbs. The key point of the stage is the final ascent, 4,7km averaging around 7%, but with the last 2.1 km ramping up to nearly 10%. Those final kilometres are genuinely tough. After the summit there is a descent that ends around 8/9 km from the finish, which opens the door to aggressive racing and late attacks. Still, my feeling is that this stage has breakaway written all over it, and my pick for the win is Jonathan Narváez. This is an excellent stage for him. Narváez already has three Giro stage wins this edition and this type of explosive climb suits him perfectly. Earlier this week I felt the stage he won suited Jan Christen better, while this one looks tailor-made for Narváez. Of course, Giulio Ciccone is one of the main dangers. He has been extremely active throughout the race and even attacked on the final hill today trying to surprise the favourites. The steep final two kilometres are hard enough for him to make a real difference if he has the legs. Jan Christen is another rider to watch closely. Maybe he has been a little quieter than expected recently, but this kind of terrain suits him very well and he could absolutely bounce back with a big ride here. Enric Mas is also an interesting outsider. For him to win, he probably needs to go solo over the climb, but if he makes the race hard enough on the final ascent, it is not impossible. It will not be easy, but the terrain does give opportunities for an aggressive move. Attention as well to Christian Scaroni. He is still relatively close to the top 10, but I do not think the peloton sees him as a genuine GC threat. That could allow him some freedom to attack from the break at the right moment. He crashed recently, but fortunately he did not seem too badly affected. Among the more classic-style riders, Filippo Ganna is another interesting possibility. He targeted this stage, although the final 2 km may simply be too steep for him. Michael Valgren could also be a very dangerous option if the right breakaway goes clear. #Giro #GirodItalia
