Base has launched a new security system after the Azul upgrade, where two separate proof mechanisms work one is TEE (hardware-based verification)other is ZK proof (math-based verification) When someone proposes a state update on Base, either of the two proofs alone can make it final But here's the thing, these two proofs aren't equally strong. A ZK proof can challenge a TEE proof and prove it wrong, but a TEE proof can't do that to ZK So my question is how "independent" is TEE's security really, or is it just a shortcut for speed that depends on ZK? Another thing is who gets to be proposer, who gets to be signer, all of this is decided by Base's own Multisig. And which verification route stays active is decided by the Base Security Council. So underneath this whole massive crypto proof system,final decision still rests with a handful of people My question is straightforward is this a genuinely trustless system, or is old centralized trust just being dressed up under a new technical name? @base
