Angelo@angelodotsui
many of you have probably noticed a sudden shift in my content
my page definitely looks much messier than before
a lot more posts
a lot more memes
a lot more replies
and a lot more quote retweets
all of this is the result of one of my latest experiments
i’m trying to understand whether it’s actually possible to escape what is, in every sense, a bubble
because it seems that once x identifies your niche, it doesn’t really let you leave it anymore
at least, not with the current algorithm
to break out of that and reach a more mainstream audience, you need an extremely loyal following
an audience that interacts immediately the moment you hit post
and right now, that’s exactly what i’m missing
a lot of people are trying to do the same thing i’m trying to do
and it’s frustrating to see how much sacrifice this takes without always being rewarded
i’m working really hard, and i still don’t see the results yet
at the same time, i’m thinking about different strategies
my tl has changed a lot in the process
once you step outside of ct, everything starts to feel a bit more absurd
x is an incredibly fast-paced app, but right now it’s missing one fundamental thing
a test button, like instagram has, that lets you experiment outside your usual lane
the algorithm currently rewards only those who manage to capture the most attention in the first hour
so even if your content is high quality, it still won’t reach the wider world if the people following you aren’t active
that said, these are the results so far
in less than 5 days, i reached the same number of impressions i made over the previous 2 weeks
engagement rate dropped a bit, while followers are still growing despite the fact that i’m posting a lot more
all things considered, it’s not going badly
but i do wonder whether this can make sense in the long run
if the algorithm doesn’t change, it becomes almost impossible for me to truly shift direction, unless everyone who follows me now turns notifications on and starts interacting with me compulsively
more updates will come
either way, i’m still here
i keep doing what i like
i experiment, i grow, but i’m still the same angelo as always
