if you are working around it and have made some incredible progress/projects, i would love to introduce/refer.

new hiring roles coming in. there is a role emerging recruiters cant name yet. not engineering, not creative, not production but something in between all three. people who can create generative media on scale with taste. keeping characters constant across scenes, syncing audio, stitching clips into something that feels directed rather than algorithmic. it’s developing taste for conducting an orchestra of tools. i am seeing teams and agencies scramble to hire for this. the closest historical parallel is early motion graphics in the ‘90s, people who lived between after Effects and traditional animation, building systems to generate content at scale. except now the scale is 100x and the tools mutate monthly. if you can take a brief and return branded video content that stays on-character and doesn’t feel uncanny, you are suddenly very valuable. strange moment when the core competency isn’t deep expertise in any single thing, but pattern recognition across a chaotic, shifting toolkit.

I'm seeing a lot of people wanting to be independent, I see this as a big red flag. You can never be independent, dependence is a necessity in this world. What you should aspire to be is 'self dependent.' We all depend on each other for some thing or the other. ~ Rahul K.

Found out today that one of the photoshoot studios we’ve been working with make 30–40 lakh profit per month. Never realised studios operated at such margins. They charge a lot and they work with big brands. Everything is marked up: models, equipment rentals, editing, ad rights… everything.

Founder’s office roles are good but they are also a bubble. Young folks who join these roles get good exposure and become strong operators. But because they are directly working the founder, they end up learning very little stakeholder management. When they come out of founder office roles, they expect the same red carpet treatment in the rest of the org and get frustrated when it is not given to them. It is a difficult transition to make and only those who have managed to keep their head on their shoulders make it through.

A serious question to VCs who ask an AI startup about the roadmap for the next 12-15 months: Are you testing a founder's confidence, or are you genuinely looking for the roadmap? Because I cannot forecast something so far ahead in a sector where incumbents change within weeks.

Crave finesse in the details they ignore. Build a character that defies circumstances. Solve the problem, don't worship the tool. ​~ Rark
