Portland Raider Boys Hoops

The Raiders (18-6) season came to an end on Tue night in the Regionalas a big 4th qtr propelled Freeland to a 61-47 victory. The Raiders were lead by Senior Tej Virk’s 15 and Soph Carson Simon’s 13. Seniors Kayden Dickerson and Ethan Cassell each added 8. Great season fellas!

March Madness is underway as the Raiders head to Owosso HS tonight for the Regional Semifinals! Portland will take on Freeland, the defending Regional champs, at 7pm. Game 1 tips at 5:30 as Frankenmuth takes on Flint Hamady. Join us for some great tournament action!

It’s a District Championship for the Raiders as they take down Ionia 64-41 in Belding. Senior Kayden Dickerson scored a game high 26 pts and fellow Senior Carter White poured in 18 pts as Portland wins back to back District titles and moves on to Tuesday’s Regional in Owosso!

The District Final is set for this evening at 7pm at Belding High School as the Portland Raiders (17-5) take on the Ionia Bulldogs for the 3rd meeting of the year. The Raiders are vying for their 2nd straight District title. Come out and enjoy some great high school hoops action!

Portland advances to the District Finals with a 58-36 victory over Belding. Senior Kayden Dickerson poured in 19 pts, Senior Carter White added 13 and Senior Ethan Cassel pumped in 12. The Raiders will take on Ionia in the District Finals for the 3rd straight year on Friday.

Portland (16-5) takes on Belding in the District Semi-Finals tonight at Belding High School at 7pm. Ionia and Central Montcalm will get things started in Game 1 at 5:30pm. See you at The Castle!

Portland (16-4) won their 7th straight with a 47-31 road victory at Shepherd. Senior Kayden Dickerson lead the charge with 19 pts, while Senior Tej Virk added 10 and Senior Carter White chipped in 7 pts. The Raiders will end their regular season at home vs Charlotte on Friday.

Portland (15-4) defeated Eaton Rapids 62-13 tonight in ER. Balanced scoring for the Raiders as Senior Owen Moore had 11 pts, Senior Kayden Dickerson added 10 pts and Juniors Liam Wolfe and Kehyan Page each scored 9. Portland will head to Shepherd on Wednesday.

The Raiders (14-4) won a thriller over Lansing Catholic, 46-45 on this 3 by Owen Moore with 2 seconds remaining. Senior Tej Virk lead the way with 15, Senior Kayden Dickerson had 12 and Soph Carson Simon added 9 on 3 triples. Portland will head to Eaton Rapids on Fri evening.

Portland improved to 13-4 with a 44-31 victory vs Parma Western. Senior Carter White scored a game high 18 pts while Senior Ethan Cassel added 10 and Soph Carson Simon chipped in 8 pts. With the win, Coach Luke Pohl earned his 500th victory in his illustrious career!

Home boys Tripleheader tonight as the Raiders (12-4) host Parma Western! The Frosh will tip the night off at 4pm, with the Junior Varsity taking the floor at 5:30, and the Varsity finishing the night off at 7pm, as Coach Luke Pohl seeks win # 500! Friday Night Hoops at PHS!!

Senior Guards Tej Virk (22 pts) and Owen Moore (20 pts) combined to hit 12 triples as the Raiders prevailed in Lakewood, 70-30. Sophomore Carson Simon added 8 off the bench. Portland will return home on Friday vs Parma Western as Coach Luke Pohl looks for his 500th win.

The Raiders improved to 11-4 on the year with a road victory over Ionia 57-41. Senior Tej Virk stayed hot with a game high 21 pts while fellow Senior Ethan Cassel poured in 11 and Senior Kayden Dickerson added 8 pts. The Raiders will head to Lakewood on Tue to face the Vikings.

Congratulations to Senior Kayden Dickerson for becoming the school’s all time leading rebounder, breaking the record of 553 career rebounds, formerly held by his uncle, Bridger Buche. Job well done KD!

Big road win for the Raiders (10-4) as they took down Olivet 57-44. Senior Tej Virk poured in 22 points, Senior Kayden Dickerson threw in 16 and Seniors Carter White and Ethan Cassel chipped in 6 each and some solid D. Portland will stay on the road Fri when they head to Ionia.

Tough battle but the Raiders (9-4) came up short tonight vs Lansing Sexton 62-57. Portland was lead in scoring by Senior Owen Moore with 14, Soph Carson Simon had 12, Senior Tej Virk added 11 and Senior Kayden Dickerson chipped in 8. The Raiders will head to Olivet on Tuesday.

Portland improved to 8-2 with a 64-31 victory over Eaton Rapids on Tue night. It was a balance attack with Senior Tej Virk (14), Soph Carson Simon (13), Seniors Kayden Dickerson (12) and Owen Moore (12) all contributing in the victory. The Raiders will head to Charlotte on Fri.

Portland traveled to Lansing Catholic and came away with a 57-33 victory to improve to 7-2 on the year. Senior Tej Virk lead the way with 23 pts while fellow Senior Ethan Cassel poured in 16 pts. With the win, the Raiders are now 4-1 in conf play and host Eaton Rapids on Tuesday.

Portland improved to 6-2 on the campaign with a 46-35 victory over Lakewood tonight. Leading the charge for the Raiders were Senior guards Owen Moore with 13 pts and Tej Virk with 10. Portland moves to 3-1 in conference play and will head to Lansing Catholic Thursday night.

Portland traveled to Williamston tonight and got a big win, 58-41, to improve to 5-2 on the season. Senior Tej Virk lead the way with 21, while sophomore Carson Simon had a big game with 14 pts. Senior Carter White added 9 in the victory. The Raiders host Lakewood on Tuesday.
