Oʻahu’s North Shore is recovering from one of Hawaiʻi’s worst flood events in more than 20 years.
📌230+ people rescued
📌5,500 evacuated at peak
📌~$1B in estimated damage
The hardest-hit communities were Waialua and Haleʻiwa, with added concern for areas downstream of Wahiawā Dam. Even after floodwaters began to recede, parts of the North Shore remained under a boil water notice.
In flood-prone conditions, minutes matter. Real-time rainfall tracking and weather alerts can make all the difference when heavy rain starts to build.
