Clearing the area rewards you with gear, levels, materials, side quests and the joy of exploring the world.
Immediately rushing to Margit rewards you with an ass beating.
Imo that‘s the real lesson, the path is straightforward but you will have to take detours if you wanna win.

Directly next to where most people will access Torrent for the first time is a giant doorway that leads up to Margit wherein the game imparts the lesson that much of the overworld is best skipped, especially given that slowly clearing this area out does not reward you at all

@ankowaifu Which is fine, I personally didn‘t vibe with AC5 and what it tried to do.
I just think it‘s unfair to say any of the games is a disgrace to the series since they all have a somewhat own take on the formula which is personally what makes the series appealing

Takes like this can only come from ignorance and a refusal to engage with the games on their terms. Every new AC it‘s the same whining, it’s ridiculous.
Fact is every game in the series switches things up a bit, some more drastically, yet ultimately all of them are AC.

in my opinion if AC6 was called something other than Armored Core it would be fine, i wouldn't really care ... but having played half of the other titles i just think it's a disgrace to the series

AC6 and Elden Ring were great games beloved by most ppl who played them so I don‘t think normal people have to worry about any quality decline…

The bar gets higher if you demonstrate the capacity for greatness so yeah, FromSoft is washed, if you put out Armored Core 3 and Bloodborne but then release Elden Ring people are correct to question if the secret sauce is still there.

This def seems like the most controversial of the boss fights in the dlc. And it seems to mainly revolve around people trying to do it solo when it’s entirely designed around the summons imo. It’s meant to be a glorious battle! I adore it. Also made me emotional

people could just call Mixtape oscar bait and move on but for some reason every single new game has to be a major point of contention (the reason being payouts for engagement)

Mixtape has the right to exist in the medium of Video Games, however I think what this game also represents is the vast disconnect between gamers themselves and gaming journalists who review video games

discourse about this game is getting a little spicy, but I think people are overthinking it.
It's a 4hr $18 game for people who like story games.

MIXTAPE is short & supremely sweet. Distinctly 90s w/o overloading on nostalgia. A coming-of-age story that's bittersweet & charming- not contrived or sad. Only a few hrs long but it genuinely made me feel something. I love these scuzzy 7-11 kids. Real. Also it included one of my favorite songs so I may be biased lol

You can feel the lower budget every now and then but man it does so much right. Incredibly satisfying exploration, character building & entertaining quests in a dark & moody world based on the Arthurian legend~
