Have we seen today the end of a truely humanitarian #UN approach, as its humanitarian appeal for 2026 sharing somehow drastically cut needs indicates a major politicized way forward? My first analysis you will find here: linkedin.com/feed/update/ur…

Please join if you can make it - also in light of by now also conservative & liberal parties calling for complete closure of German borders for #Refugees Germany should know there is a good reason for #asylum rights which much poorer states welcoming far more refugees do respect

What do millions in need worldwide need to expect from #Trump's re-start next week? And why might European donors follow his deal making approach in some devastating ways? How neutral aid and in particular women's rights might suffer - my interview: welt-sichten.org/nachrichten/43…

It is a great honour plus a pleasure to read what Damian and Mark have kindly contributed as our last CHA publication in 2024 - a must read to understand the key challenges the #humanitarian world will face in 2025! Season greetings to all our followers - best, Ralf

The #GHO2025 presented a bleak picture. High time for much needed #reform in the #humanitarian system. But only by addressing the economic incentives that shape it, progress can be made, suggest @damian_lilly and @UNMarkBowden in this new CHA paper: chaberlin.org/en/publication…

It has been a crucial and challenging debate today, giving a sense of how important it is to confront right wing populists with facts and data. I tried to contribute to this effort.

German #humanitarian aid is at risk of a turning point. Further politicisation of humanitarian aid at the expense of #forgottencrises must be prevented - @RalfSuedhoff 's appeal to the Committee on Humanitarian Aid in the German Bundestag. Watch live: bundestag.de/mediathek/live

It has been a great pleasure to host such a commited group of people in these challenging times - and to run the very first event at our new office in the heart of Berlin :-)

Happy to co-host the German #HDPnexus Community of Practice meeting together with @ZIF_Berlin today! Controversial, but inspiring discussion how shrinking budgets, prioritisation of aid and institutional set-ups might harm much appreciated progress.

Crucial discussion at Bundestag day 1 after announcement of new elections in Germany - why #humanitarian budget&principles need to be saved while asking if in future unified structures of develop. ministry & MfA in charge of hum. aid are needed? @DEonHumanRights @RenataAlt_MdB
