One of the craziest images of Saturn captured by Cassini 🪐 It shows the planet in low-angled light, almost from the side, bringing out its rings magnificently. Illuminated part is very small at the top, while the rest is immersed in the shadow of the planet itself. This extreme contrast gives the image its dramatic, artistic effect. Rings, composed mainly of ice particles and rock, appear here with their various bands and divisions. This image was taken on September 13, 2017, just two days before Cassini mission's final plunge into Saturn's atmosphere on September 15, 2017.
