Saratoga County has issued an Emergency Order declaring a state of emergency. Travel restrictions have been put in place that prohibit all non-essential travel on all County, Town and Village roadways.

At tonight’s City Council meeting, Kathy Jackson, Exalted Ruler of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161, announced that due to logistical and resourcing challenges the annual Flag Day parade will be suspended moving forward. The lodge has put on the parade for the past 56 years.

Indivisible ADK/Saratoga held “ICE Out for Good Vigils” in several towns through out the Capital Region to “demand accountability, honor the life lost and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions,” following the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

DPW Commissioner Chuck Marshall has declared a snow emergency for Saratoga Springs effective at 8 p.m. tonight. During a snow emergency vehicles must be moved to a plowed/cleared parking space every 12 hours.

A Special City Council Meeting has been put on the calendar for Thursday at 9:30 am. The only agenda item is a discussion and vote on the 2026 Proposed Budget. Mayor Safford has confirmed the plan is, after further discussion at tonight’s meeting, to vote on the budget then.
