@kayodebakre8 He can lose election if his contender is a grassroot politician. It is not easy transferring parent loyalty to a child unless the child builds his own empire over the time. They need to appease the other guys for easy ride.

ETIGBO! Ekiti approves 50 percent tractorisation subsidy for farmers The Ekiti State Executive Council has approved a 50 per cent subsidy on tractorisation services for farmers as part of measures to enhance agricultural productivity in the 2026 planting season. The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Ebenezer Boluwade, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, noting that the subsidy covers ploughing, harrowing and ridging of farmlands across the state. According to him, following the council’s approval, farmers will now pay ₦45,000 per hectare for ploughing, instead of the ₦90,000 market rate, while harrowing and ridging will cost ₦32,500 per hectare each, down from ₦65,000. Boluwade explained that the slight increase in prices compared to last year was due to rising diesel costs, attributed to ongoing global tensions involving Iran and the US/Israel, adding that prices may be reviewed downward if fuel costs decline. He outlined conditions for participation in the programme, including a maximum of five hectares per farmer and verification by ministry engineers to ensure the land has not been tractorised within the last 12 months. The Commissioner added that payment by farmers will only be made after confirmation that the land is suitable for tractorisation, assuring that service providers are expected to mobilise to project sites within 48 hours of payment. He urged interested farmers to contact designated numbers and individuals based on their senatorial districts: Boluwade added, “This is the fourth time the State Government will be subsidising the Tractorisation Support Scheme for farmers in the State. “The Scheme started in 2023 and it has captured so many farmers and improved productivity among the small holder farmers. The list of approved Mechanisation Service Providers allocated to every farmstead has been circulated widely within the state.”

Y’all called me a mad man when I said it’s risky to contest an election under ADC. The proofs are coming out small small.

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ADC Raises Alarm Over INEC Landmines * Plot to Prevent Party From Fielding Candidates The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has revealed the deliberate administrative landmines being deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prevent the Party from fielding candidates in the upcoming elections. In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party stated that at the heart of this emerging crisis is INEC’s stated position that it will no longer receive any correspondence from the ADC pending the determination of a matter before the Federal High Court. On its face, this may appear procedural. In reality, it creates a direct and dangerous conflict with the clear timelines imposed by the Electoral Act (2026), which provides defined windows, including the mandatory 21-day notice period and subsequent submission requirements, within which political parties must complete critical electoral processes. The full statement reads: We are compelled to raise serious concerns about a developing situation that appears designed to prevent the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from fielding candidates in the upcoming elections. It is based on documentary evidence which we are now placing before the Nigerian public, including certified INEC records, attendance logs, monitoring reports, and excerpts from the Commission’s own sworn affidavit. Taken together, these documents establish a clear and consistent record of events. INEC received formal notice of the July 29, 2025 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the ADC. It deployed officials to monitor that meeting. It documented the proceedings and received formal reports from its field officers. Following this, INEC updated its internal records and uploaded the names of the new leadership, including Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary. These are not claims. They are facts contained in INEC’s own records. In addition, the Commission’s sworn affidavit before the Federal High Court, in its response to Nafiu Bala Gombe on 12 September 2025, particularly in Clauses 14 to 19, affirms key legal principles: that the leadership transition had already been completed and recognized, that such internal party matters fall outside the scope of judicial interference, that completed acts cannot be reversed by injunction, and also recognizes the David Mark-led NWC. Yet, despite this clear documentary trail, INEC has now taken the position that it will no longer receive any correspondence from the ADC pending the determination of a matter before the Federal High Court. This is where the contradiction becomes dangerous. The Electoral Act imposes strict timelines on political parties, including the 21-day notice requirement and submission deadlines. INEC itself has fixed May 10 as the deadline for the submission of relevant documents. However, by refusing to receive communication from the ADC within this same period, the Commission is effectively preventing the Party from complying with the law. In simple terms, INEC is effectively threatening that unless the courts deliver judgment on the ADC leadership issue by May 10, it will prevent the ADC from producing candidates. This places the ADC in an impossible position and creates a clear pathway to artificial non-compliance, which can then be used to justify excluding the Party from fielding candidates. That is the landmine. INEC has claimed that its April 1 decision was taken to avoid rendering the proceedings before the Federal High Court nugatory. The reality is the opposite. By intervening in a matter already before the court and issuing a pronouncement with clear legal and operational consequences, the Commission has itself undermined the very process it claims to protect.

@BolajiADC You are just lousy and unintelligent. Do you want INEC to go against the court ruling? Better approach FHC for redress if you still want to participate in 2027 electoral processes.

By intervening in a matter already before the court and issuing a pronouncement with clear legal and operational consequences, the Commission has itself undermined the very process it claims to protect. What is even more concerning is that this position contradicts INEC’s own prior conduct and legal stance. The same Commission that monitored, documented, recognized, and swore to an affidavit confirming the ADC leadership is now acting in a way that contradicts its earlier position. We therefore call on the Commission to immediately reverse this position, resume the acceptance of all lawful correspondence from the ADC, and uphold its constitutional responsibility to ensure a level playing field for all political parties. We also call on Nigerians to be wary and remain vigilant about these dangerous machinations to subvert Nigeria’s democracy and impose a civilian dictatorship on the country.

@maxogundu @BolajiADC @aonanuga1956 You guys are so dense. Nwosu was sacked as the chairman in 2022 by the court. He has no jurisdiction of whatsoever to lead ADC. Relinquishing power to David Mark then was aberration. Only person capable of conducting ADC convention is Nafiu Bala cos he claimed he didn't resign.

@BolajiADC Hi Bolaji, the man your bosses stole the ADC from is ahead of you. Nafiu Gombe has already gone global to report the hijacking of his party by those he calls "external political actors" and "power mongers". Read his letter to the US Embassy in Nigeria.

I appeal to residents to remain calm. While there was rainfall on the Island and a temporary tidal lock-up occurred, this is a short-term situation. As the tide recedes in the next few minutes, the water will discharge naturally and conditions will improve. There is no need to raise the temperature of the polity over what is clearly a transient development. Our teams are monitoring the situation closely, and we will continue to provide updates as necessary. Let us remain measured and responsible. #CleanerLagos

@HAHayatu APC would benefit LP votes cos majority of them are from southern Kaduna while it retains 90% of its previous votes. PDP votes would be divided btwn APC 40% and ADC 60%. At the end of the day, APC is likely to get majority votes.

The Kaduna state result of the 2023 presidential election is very interesting. The voting patterns followed clear geographic and demographic lines, the North and Central zones leaned toward the PDP and APC, while the South swung heavily toward the Labour Party winning all the LGs. NNPP got lots of votes from LGs bordering Kano state.

@HAHayatu There is nobody among the heavyweight in ADC ready to sacrifice his ambition for general benefit of the party. It is always either me or no one else, hence each group keeps their structure tight with no diffusion from other groups. Someone must stand in as a father figure.

Sometimes in Politics you have tell yourselves the truth, the ADC is as it is not is showing any signs of defeating Tinubu. Too divided, bickerings and even lack of trust, this is not how to displace a sitting president. If it continues like this there is problem, the least the ADC should have is a well oiled media machinery.
