Risso’s Dolphins are mysterious, but fascinating creatures that are most often found in deep offshore waters! 🐬 Their bodies turn from grey to white in colour as they age from scarring and scratches, which is a result from rough behaviour either fighting or catching prey 🦑

Common Dolphins (latin name is delphinus delphis) 🐬 These are offshore species that belong to the cetacean family, but will come close to the shore to feed. They are very sociable marine mammals and can often be found working together in large pods to catch fish!

Shags and Cormorants are compromised diving seabirds as they only have partially waterproof feathers. This allows them to dive down deeper to catch fish. You will often spot them standing on rocks drying their wings out, which gives them an almost prehistoric appearance 🦇🦅

Manx Shearwaters are migrating members of the tube-nose family 🐦 During summer, they come to Pembrokeshire to nest and have their chicks. Over half the world’s manx shearwater population can be found on the Pembrokeshire islands Ramsey, Skomer and Skokholm during this time! 🐣

Did you know the Atlantic Grey Seals scientific latin name is halichoerus grypus, which translates to ‘hook-nosed sea pig’ 🐷 The grey seal can be differentiated by its larger size and longer head with a more ‘roman nose’ profile compared to that of the common seal 🦭 #seals
