I would be ~fine with Kamala Harris as the nominee in 2028, I have no existential issues with her. I just think much stronger possible nominees exist, both electorally and in general.

At some point, the very last living thing will die as the universe becomes completely uninhabitable. There will be no more memories of anything that ever was, and it will be as though all life throughout time never even existed. I can’t explain why but I find this comforting.

There will be no red state secession or national divorce. One side is going to win and destroy the other as a political force. That’s how this is going to end, with one worldview being explicitly sanctioned by the state, and the other being criminalized. You can determine through your actions which worldview will meet which fate, but you cannot determine whether or not this is going to happen. It will. There is no pluralistic future that lies before us. No libertarian dream of permanent state neutrality where gay race communism gets to live side-by-side with traditionalism. One of these worldviews WILL triumph over the other.
