Yesterday, South Carolina shattered its record for single-day early voting turnout in a primary election.
Democrats drove the surge.
Dems cast 45,966 ballots on the 1st day of early voting, compared with 10,340 Republicans, according to SC Election Commission totals. #scpol

Sen. Shane Massey now meeting with the press. Said the turnout seen earlier today supported his theory it would only energize voters downballot. "Just having this debate is going to have negative consequences for Republicans across the state," he said.

They’re taking away healthcare. AI is stealing jobs. Corporations are allowed to poison food and water again. They’re slashing education. They’re starting endless wars in multiple countries. The Supreme Court, which ordered Alabama to create a second Black opportunity district just three years ago, has lifted that order one week before the primary. The Purcell principle says courts shouldn't permit chaos too close to an election—it's now an open question as to whether there will even be a primary on schedule.

When I say the country is institutionally rigged for Republicans I’m talking about how Virginia gets their maps struck down after a two year process involving multiple legislative sessions and a statewide referendum but Tennessee can just decide not to enfranchise Memphis anymore
