I admire Colbert's wit & I don't think he should have lost his show *but* elite liberals throwing themselves encomia parties with A-list celebrities as their form of symbolic resistance amounts to nothing politically & is part of what brought us to the current ideological impasse

I wonder how The X Files managed to look this brilliant while also delivering 24 quality episodes per season 👇

Maybe it’s a generational thing but I find you weak as hell if you are letting random people saying random words on your phone influence you on liking something or not.

Drew McIntyre explains why house shows never made sense to him profit wise. “These days, I probably wrestle one match every couple of months. They finally eliminated most of the non-televised shows. One, the talent were just getting hurt all the time and going out quicker, and two, from a profit standpoint, it just didn’t make sense. It never made sense to me, profit-wise. So now, the money’s in the TV deals and all the other massive deals that the billion dollar man Nick Khan is constantly making so because I’m wrestling once every two months, every three months, I do feel like I’ve been in a car crash after the matches and I train for each match now, like, I assume a boxer would train for a fight, UFC fighter would train for a fight, I train for each pro wrestling match.” (Bobby Bones Presents: The BobbyCast)

I'm watching the film “Sandlot” with our kids and just realized that the film’s version of America with baseball, public pools, county fair, block parties, etc is almost extinct.

@davemeltzerWON that and Bruno/Londos has consistent drawing power over a very long period of time without mult deadzones that Hogan had for one. Longson is another question altogether that I am not educated enough on.

@davemeltzerWON North Koreans even teach the youth about Rikidozan

This is the dumbest take ever. I’m no Hogan but in the age of the internet and video, Hogan in 63 years will still be talked about. Andre has been dead for almost 40 years and people still talk about him and Hogan was bigger than Andre.

@davemeltzerWON Rikidozan never traveled culturally the way Hogan did there's no Rikidozan merchandise in Brazil, no Rikidozan references in Hollywood, no Rikidozan on a cereal box in Germany. His legend stayed where it started.
