BC is strengthening public health care by attracting more health-care professionals from the US. Since launching targeted recruitment in March 2025, we’ve received more than 2,750 job applications from US health-care professionals.

This morning I wrote to 17 Pride groups to say we’ll proceed with their request for a motion to support the Human Rights Code. Every MLA who supports the Code should vote to defend it. We need to stand up for human rights, not give ground to those who would take them away.

BC Olympic athletes are returning home from Italy and we couldn't be more proud! Congratulations to everyone who competed, their coaches and support staff, friends, families, and the communities that stand behind them. We celebrate you!

Building on B.C.'s leadership in removing interprovincial trade barriers, I just introduced the Trade Recognition Act. If passed, goods and services legally sold in any Canadian province could also be sold in British Columbia, no duplicate testing or certifications required. 1/2

This is big news for B.C.’s mining sector – we are introducing fixed permitting timelines for mineral exploration, backed by new investment. Last year was one of the biggest years for mining investment in B.C. history, with $750.9M going into exploration.

Great meetings with companies, First Nations, and local governments working together to build BC’s economy and bringing in billions of dollars in sustainable growth, while protecting our precious places.

This past weekend, the Honourable @Randene4PRSC (Minister of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship), ‘Na̱mg̱is First Nation Councillor Kelly Speck, Mike Green (Forestry Advisor for ’Na̱mg̱is First Nation) and Western's Chief Forester, Stuart Glen met at our Forest Operation in Woss to discuss the many benefits of the collaborative, multi-scale planning approach that has been completed. The outcomes of this work are reflected in the Gwa’ni Land Use Plan, as well as in the draft Forest Landscape Plan and draft Forest Operations Plan, which together cover the portion of ’Na̱mg̱is territory within TFL 37. We are excited to be proactively implementing the first draft FLP and FOP in the Province, in coordination with ’Na̱mg̱is, while those plans are being formally established and approved through the shared decision-making process between the Nation and the Province. We look forward to sharing more details as the process progresses.

It was a rare bluebird day to celebrate the Gwa’ni Land Use Plan. Chiefs, mayors, councillors, industry and kids from ‘Namgis First Nation, Alert Bay and Port McNeill coming together to support environmental sustainability, economic growth & reconciliation in the Nimpkish Valley.
